They’ve been saying this for decades. Videodrome is a great movie but fans of the movie have an embarrassing level of pearl clutching. Same goes with Idiocracy. Make a fun movie and a percentage of dorks who watch it are going to feel keyed into the universe.

It honestly represents an enjoyable time in my television watching time. Watching people torture each other was a nice break in pace from whatever else shit was on tv at the time.
