In that spergery inquiry, i think the deadkey  is different from Unicode  as in, a keyboard outputs ^+A bytes and copypaste throws  bytes. I would need to check it out. Edit: OTOH any sane text processing would normalize the Unicode stream so in the end all characters become "the same"...

Latin keyboards have "deadkeys" where you add a modifier to the next key. So pressing the ^ deadkey then an A gives you  Is fairly easy.
