He says he has a proficiency in statistics because he worked in a medical lab as an RA back in the 80s. He loaded cards into a computer for a t-test. That's all he did. He got mentioned in the paper that the research was done for as a technical assistant. Like t-tests can easily be done by hand, you don't really need a computer to do them.
