i like how he just glosses over the root of the problem. it's not that his buyers aren't leaving feedback, it's that out of all of them he's received a larger than acceptable amount of negative feedback/low ratings on positive feedback.

He's been selling on ebay for a long time and he's been a very good seller. This recent notice was the result of a ween spree.
Now, if he can't pony up the money to get this stuff shipped out, things might get worse for him pretty soon.
It doesn't really matter. Sellers of 10+ years have been getting banned left and right over 2 - 3 bad transactions. There was a big uproar last year when a famous seller who bought his house with money he made eBay was suddenly banned for falling defective for a month. He got reinstated because of the media attention but there's no reason why they would care about Chris. EBay isn't the same as it was 10 years ago or even five, this has been happening for a long time now. They are more interested in big box sellers, not small sellers that perpetuate negative eBay stereotypes by not shipping on time or sending the wrong product. Like chris.

I have never seen an occasion where the business model of "Pay me now so I can ship someone's order" actually work that well, at least that's how I feel.

Jeez, I hope you're wrong. I've been selling both part- and full-time on eBay for 15+ years, and have a 100% rating with 8000+ feedback, a "Silver" Power Seller status, and an "Above Average" service record. It would really suck to be kicked off after all these years because of a couple of bad transactions.
Then again, I'm not a Ween target like CWC is. Granted he's been bad with seller fees, but I'm convinced spurious negative-feedback is part of his trouble as well.
