El is masculine, La is feminine if I remember Spanish I correctly. Ella probably means boygirl or queer or whatever the fuck.

I can't imagine the Spanish culture condoning this. I live in a predominately Spanish speaking area and I've never heard this gender contraction.

"Ella" means "she" in Spanish. You're thinking of singular definitive articles. This is probably the only Spanish word Phil knows.
