Mr. Humphries could have been asking "Are You Being Served" on the ship as well.
Bloody hell "As time goes by" that's a really obscure BBC comedy from the 90's, it's set in a nursing home and wasn't popular at all beyond a certain age group.
That's Waiting for God. As Time Goes By is about an old guy meeting an old woman he used to go out with thirty years earlier, and then nothing happening for about eight seasons.

I'm just waiting for him to absorb Doctor Who into his pop culture repertoire in the next issues of Sonichu. How long until it turns out he's trying to indulge that stupid idea that the Chandler family line is actually English Royalty or some shit, with this British Culture invasion being a precursor to all that?
No, it's about an old guy meeting an old woman, where they used to be dating during the war, but his last love letter to her never got there and so they ended up living separate lives with different spouses (who are both conveniently dead by the time the show starts). They eventually DO find out the letter managed to end up in some museum and she finally can read the damn thing but by that point they already finally got married and it was like, season 7 I think?
Look, it's literally the only thing my mom watched around the house for years thanks to netflix/reruns so I know this shit by proxy because as background noise it was higher quality than usual daytime TV background noise. Also Judi Dench was in it and she just makes everything automatically better as I can't see her as anything except M from the Bond films.
Not a surprise... Chris loves Red Skelton and I Love Lucy because Borb liked that geriatric shit. I'd imagine it's a similar thing here.Bloody hell "As time goes by" that's a really obscure BBC comedy from the 90's, it's set in a nursing home and wasn't popular at all beyond a certain age group.
