It's not so much a matter of surgeons fucking up as it being a procedure which comes with the risk of many complications and where the final result can't be properly assessed for a number of months.

It doesn't seem to be something which is mentioned a lot in the lead up to surgery, but the revisions are usually free of charge - although you're still up for airfares and accommodation if you used a surgeon who isn't local.

I think Phil's latched onto the ibuprofen thing because Toren never shuts up about being in so much pain that large doses of ibuprofen don't help, even though it's not the ideal medication for either of them.

Scar revision is one of the most common forms of surgical revision. I doubt that's what Phil is looking at, though. I'd expect them to wait longer and I'd also expect it to be done by a plastic surgeon.

That's the exact reason that low-functioning mongoloids like Phil shouldn't be allowed to have "informed consent" apply to them. Isaboy especially doesn't have the mental faculties, personal hygiene habits, or support structure at home to properly recover from such invasive surgery. Which is a big reason I believe he is lying about getting GRS. No surgeon who wants to keep their reputation clean and free from malpractice suits is going to approve a life-changing elective surgery for someone like Phil.

And long term use is rarely advised due to the risk of renal failure. It's usually prescribed for aches, minor to moderate pain, and migraine disorders. It will rarely be prescribed for long term pain management if the pain doesn't warrant narcotic painkillers and the patient has an allergy or intolerance of other medications.
