I cannot think of anything more diametrically opposed to the concept of nurture than Phil, as even parasites have to channel energy to produce offspring. Nurturing involves sacrificing resources and freedom to facilitate another being's growth and maturation, and we all know that Spud is a resource black hole incapable of putting anyone else's needs before his own.
