I haven't heard this motherfucker's name in years. Not surprised to see he's up to his same attention whoring antics. Not much to add, but I had a furry friend years back who legit liked his act in his earlier years and thought he "made sense". Wikifur is run by furries, of course they'd make big names like Uncle Kage look good. Wikifur is basically China's version of Wikipedia in terms of PR ass-covering for furries.

Yeah, Wikifur is not the most accurate or unbiased source.

I think he’s smart enough to keep his skeletons well in the closet; I’ve heard a rumor he used convention funds (ie not his money) to fly an at the time underaged boyfriend to Anthrocon.

While he isn’t an angry or loud or violent drunk theres plenty of anecdotes and some actual evidence that he really does have a drinking problem. The news footage of him reacting to the MFF chlorine gas incident seems to show a guy who’s six sheets to the wind at two in the morning.

Some years ago he had a contest to raise money from furries so he could pay for renovating his kitchen. The prize that donators would win was..... he’d stop drinking for a month. That’s right, for your hard earned sheckels he’d make a promise to you, a loyal furry, to not touch a drop of wine.

In short, he probably does not deserve a thread of his own. He’s actually just a pretty typical obnoxious, narcissistic furry and the only thing that brings him any notice is that he’s a control freak with some actual clout, who thinks the fandom revolves around him and exists for his own benefit.

Gen? As in GenTalon? He does not run Anthrocon last I checked. Kage has run AC since like... the second year, and has shaped it. Gen's on the board and is one of the heirs apparent.

With his bombastic and overbearing personality, and his immediate ingratiating of himself with Conway, I have the feeling that boozybadger is probably the new crown prince of Anthrocon.

Back on 2 - there is something that’s fascinating to see him reach the “I used to be somebody!“ part in his life. I have to wonder how much regret he has for having invested so much of his social success and self esteem in a fandom that is made up of argumentative, catty autists who in being autists, are just going to turn on a person anyways at some point.
