I'm still not convinced there are repairs being carried out other than stabilization of the structure prior to demolition.
I've been into urban exploration for years now, and often see houses gutted by fires shored up temporarily while the family tries to recover anything of sentimental value (or in the Chandler's case, perceived monetary value).
The fact it's an industrial garbage container rather than a "PODS" type dumpster adds to my suspicions.
Maybe I missed some kind of major structural repairs, but if a fire goes from the basement to the roof, the house is usually abandoned or replaced, depending on how much money the family involved has.

Wish we could have pics of inside to see the damage.

Nice job on the pics. Is it sad to think the house looks a little better now than it ever did before the fire?

I don't see how they could do anything with the house. It was filled, floor to ceiling, with crap. Are they going to clear all that out? The insides must be completely destroyed, beyond repair

Well, they were already living in their own filth beforehand, so what difference would it make to them if they started living in their own charred filth?

In all seriousness though, I'm curious as to what they could actually do to reconstruct their house. I'm thinking little more is going to happen beyond those wood planks on the windows, though we might get a leaked video from Chris showing the insides of it, because he'll take a sympathy moment whenever it may arise.

It would be a major job to do. I helped a friend clean her hording mess and it was only a one bedroom apt and it took all damn weekend. Part of it being she was setting there digging like a damn ferret through all the shit I had just tossed into the bin.

Reconstruction? To be honest it doesn't look like there's much reconstruction being carried out.
I doubt the Chandlers will be moving back in anytime soon. I agree, it would be much better to have them moved into smaller housing with whatever valuables they can salvage from the house.

I have to agree with the consensus here; the odds are the house isn't going to be reconstructed and is likely being prepared to be torn down. While this is just conjecture, it's the most plausible set of circumstances considering how insane the insides must look after all that crap went up in smoke. Imagine the sheer amount of charred junk and molten plastics and the likes that now flood the interior instead of mounds of crap.

It was already barely habitable, and now it's probably not even habitable for a mouse, even after you clear the piles of charred shit within the structure has probably sustained hideous damage (especially if the fire came through the roof) and would probably require more effort ot save than it would be to just destroy and totally rebuild. That, and rebuilding would be safer.

Chris probably thinks the house will be repaired, and he can live there again, good-as-new.

I can't wait to see his brain snap when he realises that 14BLC is going to be torn down. I wonder which trolls he'll blame for that?

Any repair of 14BC would require a tare-down to the studs and sub floor because smoke gets in the flooring and drywall and the smell never goes away. This would require a dehording of 14BC. It would probably be cheaper than rebuilding to fix it (wood is expensive) but I suspect Barb is standing in the way of the horde removal.

I think this is how she'd think, but I think her actual attempts would be watered down, because of effort and stuff like that.

Of course, it also depends on what Barb may or may not need to sign off on for things to happen. Giving consent is effort too, so conceivably her doing nothing might obstruct the process, rather than let it go forward.

If she were just to lazy to deal with signing papers the agent would swing by her house to get it finished. I'd bet money she's refusing to have anyone but her and Chris molest her treasures, and her and Chris doing it is taking forever.
