Clearly since all of this seems to be true about him - Jay may just need to be fired from that place he's working right now, IMHO (trouble can only follow someone with that terrible kind of attitude about ... ANYTHING.)... I'd rather give that job to someone who wants to (or better yet, NEEDS IT BADLY!) make some money - (then hopefully aim higher when the time comes; after all, Minimum wage is only so much to live off of, period, if you're an American... Still better than mooching off of welfare like Jay likely will again in the near future.).

Except Jay wants money. He's on record as having said that 2-3 months of wages plus some amount of Christmas gift money will be enough to allow him to buy the golden dick extension of his dreams, after which it could go either way as to if he somehow decides having a job for more money is worth keeping this time despite the effort or he immediately quits because he doesn't need gobs of money anymore to fund a stupidly frivolous expense. Though I suspect he'll lean towards keeping the job at any cost, since Geek Squad is apparently the closest thing to the peak of Mount Olympus in terms of how reverent he is towards Best Buy Tech Support.

Does he actually have the registered trademark of the title or is he just trying to look kewl?

He has said several times that he's registered his sonichu as a business (likely a sole proprietorship but I don't know specifically). As far as trademark or copyright goes I haven't found anything after a quick search from the copyright office or the trademark office for "Myth of the Legendary Warrior" or "Geis, Jay." That doesn't mean it is definitive though.

You don't technically have to register copyright though. Trademark is a little different, you can use "tm" or "sm" without registration--but you can only use the ® and have it have any legal weight behind it after you've been approved by the Trademark office.

I suspect that Jay is registered as a business and assumes that means he is also registered for trademark and copyright--which is not usually how it works.

Trademarks go through the patent office in the US and are a big deal.

I do know that in some countries it is illegal to claim registered trademark status when you don't have it. Not that I really care about that (and I'm sure the uspto doesn't as well), it's just someone with Peter Pan issues making a comic. I am genuinely curious because I can picture him going through the expense for no reason.
