Chris has started an auction for a Sonichu drawing he created. He uploaded a full image in black-and-white, and a partial image in full color. These images are also attached to this post.

The bid has reached $5,100.00 in under 24 hours. It is unknown if the bidding party intends to pay this amount.

His description is as follows. The full details for the eBay listing is attached as Description.PNG
Description said:
First ever straight-from-the-creator and artist full-colored Original Sonichu and Rosechu hand-drawn and colored artwork available for sale. The main image for this sale was edited to prevent forgery during listing, but a sample of the color is the secondary photo.

ONLY when the art is Bought Now for the full price, I will purchase a good frame for it and send it expedited in bubble wrap. If NOT sold for the Buy It Now Price, do not expect full care; it may become folded; crease danger!

After the sale of this artwork, another Original fresh drawing may be listed.

On Jun-01-14 at 20:10:16 PDT, seller added the following information:
First ever straight-from-the-creator and artist full-colored Original Sonichu and Rosechu hand-drawn and colored artwork available for sale. The main image for this sale was edited to prevent forgery during listing, but a sample of the color is the secondary photo. Since the bidding has gone over the original Buy It Now price, it WILL be shipped in a sealed wrap marked "Fragile", and it is framed in a new, good photo frame.

After the sale of this artwork, another Original fresh drawing may be listed.

**Take Heart and UNDERSTAND!!! There will NOT be ANY altercations made to the drawing AT ALL. The drawing WILL be framed and mailed via USPS First Class and Expedited with Delivery Confirmation and a Tracking Number and marked "Fragile; Handle With Care". I have NO obligation to make any personal appearances upon my own personal risk. Immediate Payment via PayPal of the final full offered amount WILL be required should I accept the highest available and valid offer in the event AFTER the auction's end and the highest bidder(s) fail to pay up or be fake. Everyone involved, including ALL Bidders, are bound by eBay's Terms and Regulations as stated therein, link below at bottom of this web page.

Discretion (As stated in the Comic Page image freshly added to the listing with few updates):
ALL Sonichu, Rosechu, Cwcville and such material is Copyrighted March, 2000 by Christian Weston Chandler, with Full Paperwork backed up in Washington DC. Any names, persons or characters and such illustrated in the past Original Comic Book Pages, LittleBiGPlanet 1, 2, PSP and Vita Levels under the PSN ID of "Sonichu", and all direct content from the Creator, Christian Weston Chandler, NOT originating from said Creator that may seem similar to anyone past or present, as well as under other respective ownerships, are purely coincidental or otherwise parodic. Ownership of Original characters of Pikachu, Pok'emon and Sonic the Hedgehog are those of Nintendo and SEGA of America respectively. The drawing that is being sold on eBay now is an Original artwork created by the original Creator of Christian Weston Chandler, and is solely being sold as an artwork with no original intent of profit.

The disclaimer sounds like Chris got help from someone. My guess is he told Barb once it reached a few grand and she got paranoid that it was some kind of a plot.

Any idea if Chris would be telling this to Barb? I can totally see him telling barb he is working on getting money soon.

Also has their financial state really gone this low? Chris probably wants some lego if anything.
He wouldn't tell it to Barb because she might take away his money. Now, he wouldn't think of Barb as a money threat on his own, it'd just take lots of experience with her taking his tugboat and stuff. Which he has.

As near as I can tell from ebay's terms and help pages, Chris is on the hook to ebay for $250 now that the bidding has broken the $2,500 mark. Chris is required to pay that to ebay no matter what, and when the winning bidder fails to pay, Chris can only apply for a credit to be applied to his seller account. There's no guarantee he'll get that credit even assuming he can work out how to apply for it, and even if he does get the credit he will then have to make another application to have his credit refunded.

Chris really should have listed this as an immediate purchase classified item instead of an open ended auction, but I suspect he didn't want to pay the $10 insertion fee for classified listings on ebay; there's no insertion fee on auction listings. So trying to save $10 might well end up costing him a lot more.

So in other words he's planning on sending the buyer a box of broken glass and a damaged drawing. Marking "fragile" on the package is about as meaningful as labelling an extension cord "heavy duty". The packaging and packing needed to safely ship framed pieces are probably a little more expensive than Chris would be willing to pay. He'd be better off, as would the hypothetical buyer, leaving it unframed and using a photo mailer and some reinforcing cardboard or a tube. Is it worth someone taking the time to try to educate him on the proper way to ship artwork?

Well, either way it doesn't matter anymore. The listing has been removed. No 13K for Chris this time.

Chris would only owe ebay money if the seller paid. If the seller does not pay, ebay would give Chris that account credit back, no questions asked. Now that ebay owns paypal and requires you to use it for transactions, ebay fucking knows if the buyer has paid or not.

Did anyone honestly expect anything different?

Eventually Chris wouldn't owe ebay any money, but in the meantime he'd have the hassle of filling out online forms. It wouldn't be a big deal for any normal person, but we all know how badly Chris handles even the most minor adversity.

Chris really should have listed his Sonichu art as a buy now classified and paid the $10 insertion fee. I don't think he understands the idea of just adding the insertion fee to the asking price to get it back but probably only saw it as $10 he wasn't going to get. I have little doubt that he would have sold his art to some ween almost immediately had he run it as a fixed price classified for $50. Even with the $10 insertion fee and 10% sold item fee he'd still be pocketing $35, which is much more than the nothing he got from a cancelled listing. Do that seven more times and he'd have enough for that lego sea cow he so desperately wants, probably within the week.

There is no insertion fee, even for a buy it now, unless the item sells. Chris actually seems to be fairly proactive with his ebay account, so I have little doubt that he'd fill out the online forms needed to refund his money. I've had to fill these forms out myself, it's maybe 2 drop down menus at the most. There's a reason someone as fucking stupid as Chris can successfully use ebay: most of the USA are total morons. Ebay knows this, and gears their website to be idiot-proof.

Have you all seen his Q and A responses?

Q: Before the "Buy it Now" price was $100 but now it's $500? I might've bought it for $20 or maybe $30 but $500 is way too much. :(
A: Rising Interests, AND Hurt from Trolls have instigated the increase of the Original Drawing in the relishing from the wrongful removal, so Tough. You want it; bid or PAY UP Now.

Nice to see he has stopped being a total douche to his "fans"...

It's not down, it's up. It has a starting bid of $100 (his old buy it now price), and a new buy it now of $500. So not only has Chris not learned his lesson, he's increasing his folly. And the same thing is going to happen all over again. Rinse. Repeat.

Also he's gone and had it framed (and "laminated"?), so if anyone does manage to purchase this drawing they are definitely getting a box full of broken glass.
There is no insertion fee, even for a buy it now, unless the item sells.
There's no insertion fee for auction listings, but from what I gather from ebay's terms a $10 insertion fee is still applied for single price classified listings that don't allow bidding. Now that may only be applied when the item "sells", as you say, but it's still $10 Chris doesn't want to pay, so he won't. So there's no way Chris is going to sell his art because any auction that allows bidding is going to be bid into oblivion by the weens.

From his re-listing it's clear he hasn't figured that out and still doesn't want to pay it. The abject failure of his previous listing taught him nothing about how to make a successful sale on ebay in the face of weenery. All he "learned" from it is that his drawings "really are worth hundreds to thousands of dollars." Chris didn't learn anything from the weens; he only reinforced his delusions.

Is Chris a time traveler? Obviously, because the date, as with anything he does/says, is TRUE and HONEST! Did Magi-chan help him? How did he not get stuck in the Time Void?

I can't get over the Q and A stuff.
Q: Why is the drawing dated 6/14/14? That date has not occurred yet. Are you sure this is legit?
A: Oops! That was a mistake; I meant to write 6/1/2014; an extra "4" that should be disregarded, and it can not be undone or changed since it is laminated.
Q: This is a very beautiful drawing and I have been a fan of your style for a long time. If I were to purchase this, would you be willing to have it displayed in a local art gallery that I own? Many thanks,
A: ONLY if you bid the highest AND PAY the Full amount, yes.
Q: How do I know this was created by the True and Honest Christian Weston Chandler and not an imposter? I saw another listing on Ebay that claimed they drew the original. Thanks.
A: That listing is a FAKE, plus it is in a frame, a faker would NOT invest in the bold listing, AND I AM The original artist, Christian Weston Chandler.
Q: Before the "Buy it Now" price was $100 but now it's $500? I might've bought it for $20 or maybe $30 but $500 is way too much.

They are just too much. My favorite is the "oops, my mistake but I can't/won't change it cuz it's laminated" And of course the, "my feelings were hurt so my asking price went up, so take that trolls" response. Gotta love Chris for his... original douchebaggery.

I spent a good five minutes looking at what I assume is Pikachu and Raichus's tail making the shape of a heart asking myself "what the hell is that blob up there? Is that like, a floating island?" then I thought it was a misplaced stylized "3"

Anyways, despite that I'm pretty sure he hasn't made any serious Sonichu art in a few years (the last I can remember was Robee Sonee and the Tomgirls) So this is a nice change of pace in comparison whining about needing doubles of Legos, and begging his fb friends for money for bullshit. I understand the reason this ebay posting is happening is because of DA LEGOS, I will take it and enjoy nonetheless.

I just noticed on the ebay listing he updated the information
On Jun-03-14 at 00:34:19 PDT, seller added the following information:

***Update: From this point forward, ALL bidders not only with ZERO Feedback, but who also created their eBay accounts on and after June 1, 2014, will become Blocked, and their bids will (given if I am able to within my ability on the eBay site) either be Deleted and Removed from the list, OR be altogether Ignored and Disregarded. And as such, after the listing ends, if the Highest Bidder is a Zero Feedback with the Youngest Creation Date, that person will have 24 Hours from the end of the Auction to pay. Otherwise, the Next Bidder Down with More Positive Feedback will be notified of being able to buy the framed drawing for their Highest Bid made; that person will have Three Days to reply and/or Pay through PayPal the full amount. And if not, I'll move on to the next bidder down and repeat until Highest Possible Payment of OVER $1,000 is immediately Paid in Full.

Also, you may make Offers that can and will be taken under serious, great consideration through the eBay messenger, or via Facebook (Please list your eBay screen name if messaging me via Facebook). NO Special Requests will be accepted for this drawing, as it Has Been Laminated AND Framed. Also, I will draw and write up a Personal Certificate of Authenticity, with my signature on that as well, and IT will be laminated and then taped onto the card stock back of the drawing, then put back into the frame.

And speaking of Facebook, I had my comic page albums set to Friends Only; my bad, I have just reset them all to Public. I sincerely apologize for that. And the date in the drawing, "6/14/2014", that was a mistake I made; I meant to write "6/1/2014"; please disregard the extra "4", and you may consider it a fun tidbit of information about the piece.

Thank you very much for such strong interest in my artwork that my Heart and Soul have gone into putting together with great care and long thought.
