Mr. William Bresch has filed an incomplete DMCA takedown request against his own thread.

He appears to be following a template, but has failed to provide his full legal address for servicing. As a result, this is not a legally compliant notice that we are required to acknowledge.

Not that we'd pay any damn attention if he filled it out correctly anyway, right?
There's been two instances we've received an accurate DMCA.

The first time was on behalf of FetLife from a Canadian lawyer who had no real legal claim and did not follow up his emails with servicing.

The second time was from a cartoonist who immediately redacted his DMCA after we posted the notice.

Here is a quote from "The King" regarding images on the internet. The use of all caps makes this a proclamation........View attachment 142156

That is, of course, absolute bullshit. The requirement of copyright notifications and other formalities was abolished in 1988 in the United States, and in most countries, long before that. We were the holdout. Our implementation of the Berne Convention means that now, in the civilized world, material is copyrighted as soon as it put in a fixed form, whether or not there are notices or other formalities in place.

That is true. It is also true that the internet is a lawless and slippery place where copyright effectively means jack shit.
