The Registrar of Voters in each municipality in the district has to certify the signatures of those who signed Flynt/Wu's ballot petition and claim to live in that registrar's municipality. The registrar will not certify the signatures of those who are not registered Democrats, those who signed with a fake name, those who listed an incorrect a dress, those who live outside the municipality, and so on.
The registrars will certify and report to the state the signatures that survive this scrutiny.
If the Massachusetts Democratic machine wants to keep Flynt/Wu off the ballot, those signatures are going to be examined with a microscope.
After that process is finished, Flynt/Wu's opponents can step forward and challenge signatures.
Also, as another poster has noted, the Massachusetts Secretary of State's office strongly recommends that candidates for the U.S. House submit 4,000 signatures if they want to be certain of surviving the vetting and challenge procedures. By submitting 2,900 signatures, Flynt/Wu still risks failing to make the primary ballot. If that happens -- and I hope it does -- the chimpout will be epic.
I would want the win just so we can all watch the meltdown when Ol' Wu realizes that politics is nothing more than bullying on a national theater with professional actors. As much as I would like to see a chimp out after a single loss, part of me wouldn't mind seeing her win the election, and then chimp after every single bill she's a part of getting shot down.

He's not on the ballot yet, despite what he claims. I suspect he will make it, if only because Frank is willing to spend the money, but the signatures have not been vetted.
Edit: ninja'd
I want him to challenge exactly enough to leave them at 1999.Fair over under wager for how many man of the people Stephen Lynch's campaign challenges being set at 1500, sound about right?

The only other declared candidate seems to have even less of a campaign than the Wus. I think the Lynch campaign will have to handle it themselves - he probably can't get any local machine politicians to do it since the party's supposed to stay neutral in primaries.Stephen Lynch won't even bother challenging Wu's signatures. If anyone does it will be the other fringe candidates.

Is Voehl even running anymore? His FB is gone and his website isn't loading. His twitter has 2 tweets from the 15th. I think he's gone. Didn't get enough signatures maybe. The only other declared candidate seems to have even less of a campaign than the Wus.
