Having it removed from google.fr is a bit of a Pyrrhic victory. French court doesn't have the jurisdiction to make a world-wide order (the pdf states that Google is to make the results inaccessible world-wide).

If they requested the OP and Page 2 be deindexed from Google, that doesn't delist any hypothetical Page 3 or onwards, does it?

There was an Australian action a couple of years ago which Google lost but in the judgement it was made clear that the order could only be applied to the specific urls listed in the complaint and that if the same information appeared at different urls in the future, new requests for de-listing would need to be made to Google.

I could very easily just rename the thread to get new URLs, but I'm not going to bother. For one, I'm not in the mood to intentionally piss off governments that aren't under the crown. Pour deux, I get the feeling this won't be very effective regardless.

They can't ban Google from listing any results containing a person's name. They are saying those two pages in particular have infringing content. This thread, no matter what your interpretation, cannot be defamation because it's a factual post. This actually happened. There is no opinion present in OP. To censor it is to censor government activity and criticism thereof.
