I think the main reason she’s quitting is she knows she won’t have enough signatures.

One of Briannas challengers sued Massachusetts, and the state Senate cut the number of signatures needed in half to 1000. Other sites say signatures aren’t due until June but this article and several others say they’re due a week from today.
So despite running for over three years, she couldn’t muster up 1000 signatures in a few months because animal crossing, ff7 remake and resident evil got in the way, plus the fact that all of her supporters aren’t even in her district. Covid-19 was the cowards way out.

Brianna made the right but difficult decision to suspend her campaign for Congress. COVID-19 presented an unprecedented set of challenges. I know that’s something you can understand, as we are all dealing with a new reality that has been thrust upon us from this terrible pandemic.
As her campaign manager, it was a pleasure being in the fight with her. She is a woman of integrity, courage, and strength. I am also incredibly proud of the team we put together. Our staff and volunteers are second to none. We’re hurting now, but I know we’ll all pick ourselves up to fight another day.
When campaigns end, there is still work to be done, as difficult as it might be. Campaigns incur expenses - that’s no surprise, and we still have a few bills to pay.

In the 2018 election he actually did somewhat better than chance. We had a useful experimental control in a third candidate who literally did nothing. And John did indeed outperform that guy, though neither came remotely close to Lynch.
Also in 2018 voters confused her with someone else who else had the last name of Wu.
