2020: The year meme magic dies off? - AKA the most poorly-aged KF thread

  • Intermittent Denial of Service attack is causing downtime. Looks like a kiddie 5 min rental. Waiting on a response from upstream.

I have a strong conjecture that /pol/ and co. are losing their prophetic/reality-warping abilities. Say what you will, but here's what I believe:
  • 99.99999999999999999999999999999% chance Coronavirus is not going to cause a worldwide pandemic, let alone kill 6 trillion.
  • 70% chance Trump loses.
Not saying the mainstream media is getting any more accurate, just that the "alt-right" is stooping to their level.

I will necro this thread when the virus dies off, and after the election (regardless of outcome). In the meantime, feel free to give me rainbows, red x's, puzzle pieces, and trash cans.

It's already been announced to be a pandemic but even discounting 'six trillion' it's not likely to bring down a large fraction of the population. Thin the old folks homes perhaps.

As for Trump losing you can say that but have you seen the DNC debates? It's madness. I'm not sure who will or could win.

That's literally what the Democrats were saying about Trump in 2016.

The difference I’d suggest is the demographics, Bernie’s base is younger and far more vocal on social media and the internet in general.

If he becomes the official Democrat candidate I think he might struggle when it comes to convincing floating voters all his big policies (Medicare for all and student fees) can be funded.

Why are you so alarmed?

you're giving /pol/ too much credit, the idea that they won the election for Trump is a meme in itself.

70% chance he loses? The Democrats are so shellshocked from 2016 that the entire party is still wondering Omaha beach looking for the arm that a green frog in a pill bunker blew off. It looks like we're either getting a child molester or a communist - Trump will beat both.

"but Bernie is an outsider just like Trump was in 2016" the difference between the two is astounding, and reminds me of horseshoe theory garbage. The country can stomach a woman grabbing orangeman, they can't and won't stomach r.etarded Trotsky regardless of what the primaries tell you.

True, but I think it's incredibly insular how people are saying the problem with his primary demographic is that they typically don't vote, therefore they won't vote this time either. If they're so clearly interested in him, they're going to show up to vote this time.

A front running Democratic candidate is gay and has the last name Butt. His middle name is Paul. Peter Paul Buttgieg, P.P. Butt. His husband's is named Chaste. Meme magic is alive and well.
That's not what I'm talking about.

Any predictions not written with the proper American M/D/Y format are invalid. That's why that prediction won't work.

And his last name is pronounced "booty judge", somehow. I don't know how the hell you get "judge" out of "gieg". It's very much alive.

Coronavirus will start the race war soon. Don't worry, we'll all be dead by next year.

First it'll be the Chinese killed off, then everyone else.

does /pol/ even still support Trump now that he's clearly not literally Hitler? Trump isn't the chaos candidate anymore and I think most non-boomers just want to watch the world burn at this point.

He represents white people. That's why /pol/ still supports him.

Nah Bernie is gonna lose. Why? As many have stated he's way too far left for even the democrats. They're gonna take it from him courtesy of bloomberg inc.
He didn't help himself with the cuba defense. He lost much support he had last election due to flip flopping (used to be against open borders because it was a Koch thing for cheap labor and used to defend the 2nd amendment). Unions are also not a fan of his health care stance.
He will take a hit when women find out about his rape essay from college.
Last but not least, Corona-Chan or any pandemic helps a president mainly due to people being too afraid to change administration admist pandemics.

Eh, the whole idea of "meme magic" was some autistic /pol/ bullshit to start with.

I do think the Coronavirus is going to have some impact on the world now that it's technically a global pandemic, but the impact isn't going to be in the global death toll, since the bulk of the deaths from it are in China.

Rather, the impact it's having on China is going to hurt the current paradigm of globalism that's been the norm since the 1990's at the latest.

As for Trump winning, it is likely, but let's not get complacent. A recession caused by the current outbreaks in China could have a major effect on the election depending on when it hits and how severe it is when it does.

Yeah, it's definitely going to spread more than I initially thought, but the news that made me realize that concurrently revealed just how benign it is.
