Funny thing is I saw one Youtube channel (the Hill) which had a Cheer Option right next to like and dislike. Is that new? If Phil could have that he had Twitch on Youtube: he can have members and he could hae cheers. and the cheer option on Youtube isn't bound to any "fanatsy currency"

Never noticed it before but not all channels have it. In fact most channels I just checked do not.

Seems like a new feature that works essentially like Super chat, but for prerecorded videos. It looks like it's on beta, and has purchase and country limits at the moment.

Is it specific to premiered videos?

(A "premier" is a prerecorded video but it's released and streamed "live" - typically the creator will be in the chat interacting with viewers but they obviously can't read super chats in the "live" video because it's prerecorded)

I haven't seen any evidence that it's specific to premiered videos, it should apply for normal ones as well.

With that said, keep in mind that it's on beta, and not all people are eligible to get it. In this video you have someone reading Youtube's response to his request to get it, and after that he shows how it looks like when someone uses it. (the feature is called Viewer Applause)

Timestamp at 2:50 to see Youtube's email, followed by a couple of minutes on how it looks when you purchase it as a viewer.

I'm going to throw it out there - He's not going to YouTube even if he could get more money there.

Phil puts more importance on maintaining his safe space than money. He's proven that in many ways

- YouTube comments, likes and dislikes disabled. This has a tangible effect on the YouTube algorithm so works to hamstring his own YouTube channel. Less views, less money, he's aware of this too. Even during the bankruptcy saga and real money struggles, he still wouldn't change this up in order to get some more cash coming in. Why bother when fans are there to fill the gap?
- The militarized zone that is DSPs twitch chat, years and tens of thousand of bans have gone into it. Mean words obviously get to Phil.
- Not capitalising on his trolls and hate-fans. Imagine the amount of money Phil could gain from gimmick streams where you have to tip to get in a lobby with him. It doesn't take a business degree to know that.

Not to mention haters, critics, trolls and detractors have such a foothold on YouTube the moment he switches over its open season on him. If he thought YouTube was bad before he has no idea....

I know that his ego probably might not let him get to that level as well, but he is ultimately the biggest idiot if he decided to do this. He completely misses out the earning potential that YouTube gives him that Twitch never will again, he will not make as much just through tips as we're currently witnessing, money drives this guy, I think he will have to end up switching at some point because his bottom line is that he is only doing this for the $$$ at this point in his life.

He's severely handicapping himself by staying on that platform for the foreseeable future.

Phil I hope you realise that you just look like Twitch's bitch at this point as they actually make money from ads playing when people click on your stream as it loads up, so they're a detractor to now, they're just messing with you!

After all thanks to the big detractor community (Mrhuthstuff especially who digs out all kinds of Phils old shenanigans) a lot of his past is there for all to see. Not to mention Phils own channels. Maybe he should try Glimesh I checked today and only 12 Gaming channel were active streaming.

Given his name-dropping of detractor channels, I think Phil has an idea of how much the community has entrenched itself and prevented any kind of successful return. In fact I dare say it's the real reason he sticks with Twitch even now.

What's fascinating is him still doing it immediately after getting punted for it instead of just showing you're not the asshole they see you are and waiting 24h to try and get it back. He absolutely knows why he was kicked to the curb and I bet it's more than one thing.

We've seen Phil react to unexpected timeout bans before on Twitch and his reaction on this was so much more understated he HAS to have known it was coming.

Exactly. Everytime anything negative at all happens to him, he blames it on the detractors. The fact that he didn't really do that this time shows that he knows its entirely his fault.

That's what happened to Destiny after his comments on Kyle Rittenhouse. He was later totally banned for other reasons (I think somebody put a picture of Hunter Biden's dick on the stream somehow), but if Twitch has you on their naughty list they can just remove the partnership.

He signed a contract with them, he expected them to keep their part but dsp was ready to ditch the whole agreement if it was bad to him because the contract had a few spelling errors.
