60 minutes segment on SSI Disability abuse -

I caught this segment on 60 Minutes last night and it immediately brought Chris to mind. It was about how Senator Tom Coburn and a group of investigators he assembled have discovered rampant abuse of the SSI Disability program, in cases just like OPL, where perfectly able bodied people exaggerate their deficiencies to collect Disability. Hilariously enough, Sen. Coburn claimed it' most rampant in the general area of the country where Chris lives.

I don't think Chris is such an obvious case of SSI abuse. He really probably isn't physically or mentally capable of holding down a full time job. His disability payments are meant to supplement a part-time job for an otherwise self-sufficient but disabled adult, but I don't think it really matters to the federal government whether someone wants to live in squalor on just the SSI alone because they're too lazy to get a part-time job sweeping floors or something on top of it. Either way, he'd never make enough to pay federal income taxes, for example.

This is going to be locked but I don't think he's a cheat I want to say before that happens.

He's , not nefarious on that front.

I agree that at this point, Chris has degraded so far mentally and physically that he can't even function in society, yet alone hold down a job. However, he was perfectly capable back when he first applied for the Tugboat more than a decade ago. Bob basically helped/convinced him to scam the system for a free income.
