Well like the title says..75 years ago today, thousands made the ultimate sacrifice at Normandy.

And I find it sad that alot of people don't even know what D-day is any more, nor care. But every one should take a moment to thank the men who made the ultimate sacrifice and reflect upon things.

Fuck. I feel so bad for not remembering D-Day today. It takes a lot of fucking courage to run out into enemy fire and into certain death in order to protect your allies from the actual threat of fascism. Unfortunately, I can't thank any of these men in person, but I'll definitely make time to remember what the cost of freedom is.

The Japanese people were the victims of a very rapacious military industrial complex. The Japanese campaign was diven by entities like Mitsubishi and inspired by greed more than it was Imperialism in the traditional sense. Imagine huge corporate families getting in bed with crooked politicians You understand, I'm sure.

They could have all the emperors they want, as long as they remained cowed & cooperative. The Japanese spirit had to be broken at some point. It was inevitable - The Japanese Army was on a roll at this time & their navy had just kicked the shit out of Russia. Japanese leaders likely felt Godly, beyond reproach, fired with ethnic nationalism. They fucked up European whiteys! Nobody does that shit!

That hubris, matched with old money corporate greed, was dangerous as fuck. These guys used to launch airplanes outta submarines, ffs. They were next level AND cocky, so the US breaking their spirit was inevitable. Not enough room in the world for that shit.
