I wish they reliably told the truth about when they're gonna be where. I'm not scared of them, per se, I just would like to know what to expect when I go to the library to volunteer.

The general consensus is no, they don't regularly take their hormones. Only under very rare circumstances do wpath standards of care allow for people not on hormones to get surgery. If I remember correctly, you have to conclusively prove that going on hormones would Be dangerous for some reason for you. Or if you have some medical condition that prevented you from taking hormones, but didn't prevent you from getting surgery.

Sexual reassignment surgery is expensive thanks to American capitali$t tyranny. It's also not generally covered by insurance, from what I have heard. This is on top of it being an arduous and scary and painful process. Phil isn't going to get SRS, it's just a carrot he waves around to pretend he has direction in his life.

Is this retard delusional? I assume by "surgery" he means SRS, and I assume he's writing a letter to petition a doctor to perform it? No one is gonna perform SRS on someone who has as many mental problems as Phil, can't show that they're able to live as a woman full time, and furthermore (and most importantly) CAN NOT TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES AFTER SURGERY. Holy shit, the amount of stuff you have to do in the first few weeks to keep a newly formed vagina clean and dilated is pretty serious. It is NOT an unpainful experience either.

That's quite surprising, thanks for the info. But apparently he doesn't want SRS - so is that really gender related surgery if he's just getting his balls removed? I've never heard of that being a common thing amongst trans women. Mostly just going for full vagina.

This is... Super complicated. At the risk of derailing the thread, I'm going to say that orchiectomy is less common than vaginoplasty, but some people choose to get it done because of various reasons.
