You know how in those isolated parts of your country you may come across someone whose language, while technically the same as yours, is so loaded with the local accent and slang that you can barely understand what they say? The echo chamber that is Tumblr has accomplished in just a few short years what normally takes decades or even centuries to do in the real world.

Understanding this bizarre dialect is key to figuring out just how crazy some of these Tumblrtards really are. Now I'm hardly an expert on Tumblrese so I would like to ask our Tumblr refugees for assistance in compiling a list of odd words/phrases commonly used on said site.
Notes:
Many Tumblrisms are phonetically the same as their English language origins, but the exact meaning has been altered to support a certain point of view. For the sake of simplicity I will stick to Tumblr's definition. More detailed information on these terms can be found in the posts below.

Some words are often used to end arguments that someone feels they may lose. These will be tagged as an "IWB" or "I Win Button."

AAVE: African American Vernacular English (black people slang).

Ableism/Ableist:
IWB - Discrimination or mistreatment of a person based solely on a mental or physical disability. Often applied to such words as 'crazy,' 'dumb' or 'stupid.'

Allistic: Not autistic.

Allosexual: Not asexual.

Aromantic: You don't fall in love with every single person you meet.

Asexual: You don't feel like having sex all the time.

Auxiliary Pronouns: Common pronouns (he/she/they) you may use instead of someone's neopronouns.

Bae: Slang (possibly AAVE) for "babe".

CAFAB/CAMAB: Coercively Assigned Female/Male At Birth. The doctor saying "it's a girl/boy!"

Check Your Privilege: IWB - "You have more privilege, therefore your opinion is invalid." See Privilege

Cisgender: The opposite of transgender.

Cishet: Slur - Short for Cisgender Heterosexual.

Cisphobia: Hatred of cisgender people. According to Tumblr, this is not real (die cis scum!).

Columbiner: Someone who idolizes the Columbine mass murderers.

Cotton Ceiling: The barrier between transgender people and those who do not want to have sex with them because of their physical genitalia. Similar to the Glass Ceiling, just replace 'upper level job positions' with 'contents of someone's underpants.'

Cultural Appropriation: Stealing a different race's culture by wearing certain clothing or hairstyles, learning their language, etc.

Demisexuality: Sexual attraction based on closeness in a relationship.

Dysphoria: The feeling your physical body does not match your inner self. See Otherkin and Trans*

Feminist: Someone who works for the fair treatment of women. On Tumblr this translates into blaming all of society's ills on MRAs, the Patriarchy or all men who have ever existed.

Flower Crowns: Tumblr fashion trend of wearing flower crowns and Photoshopping them on other pictures.

Gatekeeping: Deciding who can or cannot be part of a certain community. Most often applied to transmedicalists.

Headmate: Separate personality living in your brain. See Median/Multiple System

Internalized (X): IWB - Having a different viewpoint than a social advocate while being of the group they claim to advocate. "You've been brainwashed by society to think this is how things should be."

John Money: Psychologist often cited for his research on gender as social construct involving David Reimer.

Kintype: The exact type of kin someone identifies as. See otherkin

KMS/KYS: Kill Myself/Yourself. Appropriate response to someone who disagrees with you.

Latinx: Gender neutral term for people of Latin heritage.

Male/White Tears: A joke referring to the "fact" that a man's/white's problems could never be as bad as what women/PoC face.

Mansplaining: A man explaining something to a woman.

Median/Multiple System: Two or more personalities living in the same body. Similar to but distinct from Dissociative Identity Disorder/Schizophrenia.

Microaggression: A small, seemingly innocuous action that provides subtle reinforcement to racist/sexist/whatever-ist oppression.

Misandry: Hatred of men. According to Tumblr, this does not exist (kill all men!).

Misgendering: IWB - Using an unapproved pronoun.

Misogyny: Hatred of women. Often used as an IWB.

Monosexuality: Sexual attraction to only one gender.

MRA: Men's Rights Activist - Someone who works for the fair treatment of men. On Tumblr this translates into blaming all of society's ills on feminists, the Gynocentric government or all women who have ever existed.

Neopronouns: Pronouns invented by someone who feel common pronouns (he/she/they) do not apply to them.

Neuroatypical: Having a mental disorder/illness.

Neurotypical: Not having a mental disorder/illness.

Otherkin: Someone that personally identifies as something other than themselves: animals, mythological creatures, planets, etc. The connection ranges from feeling you have lot in common with something to believing you are said thing trapped in a human body (see Dysporia about the latter).

Patriarchy: The cabal of old white men who keep women oppressed in every aspect of life.

PoC: Person/People of Color (not white).

Polysexuality: Attraction to more than two genders but not all genders.

Privilege:
An innate benefit someone has because of their race, religion, gender, sexuality, place of birth, age, etc.

Problematic: IWB -Views/attitudes different from your own.

Rape Culture: The idea that all men are rapists just waiting for the right moment to give in to their desires and that any interaction between a man and a women has overtones of rape.

Safe Place: A setting where people of whatever group you belong to can feel free to express themselves and support each other (unless you happen disagree with whoever runs the Safe Place on something, no matter how minor).

Sapiosexuality: Sexual attraction to intelligence.

Scientism: IWB - Reals > Feels.

Scopophobia: The fear of being stared at/watched. Often used to tag pictures with eyes to avoid triggering scopophobes, an act that most scopophobes consider retarded since the fear involves the concept of judgement or plotting harm, which someone's imaginary waifu is incapable of doing. Tumblr has yet to listen.

Self-Diagnosis: Diagnosing oneself with a (usually mental) disorder or illness instead of going to a health professional.

Shaming: Saying something bad about one's appearance, hobbies, fetishes, etc.

Shitlord: Slur for anyone who disagrees with you.

Signal Boost: To raise awareness about a problem by reblogging.

Skeleton: A script was created that replaced SJW with Skeleton. Disrespectful to Skeletons everywhere.

Social Construct: Something that is arbitrary or "a matter of opinion". Can refer to gender, biological sex, the concept of obesity, the whole discipline of science, etc.

Spoon: Metaphor for physical/mental effort. (Origin)

SWERF: Sex Worker Exclusionary Radical Feminist. Essentially anybody who points out that the bulk of self-representing sex workers online are higher up the privilege scale and don't represent the state of sex work globally.

TERF: Trans-Exclusional Radical Feminist. Does not believe that Transwomen are a legitimate front for feminism, being essentially former males. Often derogatorily called "Trans Exterminationist Radical Feminists" by their critics.

Tone-Policing: IWB - "Quit trying to control the conversation by telling me to stop being obnoxious!"

Toxic Masculinity: Stereotypical male traits such as aggressiveness, competitiveness, reliance of logic, and dismissal of emotions. Strangely, these are sometimes considered positive traits in women.

Trans*: A blanket term that includes transgender, but attempts to apply the concept to anything and everything: ethnicity, species, weight, etc.

Transmedicalist: Someone who insist on the medical nature of transgenderism, particularly on gender dysphoria: the - often intensely - uncomfortable feeling that your brain's wiring and your body's plumbing don't match.

Transmisogyny: Hatred of transwomen. Often used as an IWB.

Transphobia: Hatred of trans* people. Often used as an IWB.

Trigger: IWB - Something that upsets you.

Truscum: Slur for transmedicalist.

Tucute: The opposite of a transmedicalist, a tucute believes that gender is a choice and that anything can be a gender.

Tulpa: A particularly vivid headmate. Word originates from Buddhism (see Cultural Appropriation)

uvu/uwu: Tumblr smilies, the u's being closed eyes and the v or w being a smiling mouth.

Whitewashing: Giving a fictional PoC a lighter skin tone.

Wom*n/womxn/womyn: An attempt to remove man/men from woman/women.

I'll keep updating this post as more information comes in.

I'll chip in.

The Stereotypical SJW User: Not so much a definition but a very noticeable trend. Often 14 - 20 years old, DFAB (designated female at birth), trans/tucute (maybe like 95% girl with a tiny bit nonbinary because they wear ~boy clothes~ - basically cis lmfao), white, middle class, has several self-diagnosed mental illnesses, is otherkin* with a separate page for all of their kintypes, has a long-ass "DO NOT FOLLOW IF YOU ARE X" list. Basically, Vade.

*otherkin meaning Tumblrkin, as the greater otherkin commiunity outside of tumblr is not anywhere nears as batshit as the Tumblr one - it's seriously awful on Tumblr.

Otherkin: Sticking with the Tumblr community because the larger community is wildly different. Basically if you feel a connection to something you're obviously kin of that thing. You think cats are cute and think you act like them? Boy howdy you must be a catkin. You think that anime character is cute? Animukin here we go.

Fictionkin: Regarded as different from the otherkin community as a whole, but on Tumblr there is a pretty massive overlap. Identifying as a fictional character from any media, usually a video game character or anime character. Tend to spring up with trends.

Neurotypical: There is a lot of debate as to what constitutes neuroatypical/neurodivergent ("is it for autistic people or mentally ill people in general???") but neurotypical simply means not mentally ill + not autistic.

Ableism: Yet another very real thing Tumblr took off and ran with. Refers to the systemic mistreatment of disabled/differently abled people, such as poor treatment of the mentally ill, the murder of autistic children by their parents, companies like Autism Speaks, and of course those with physical disabilities as well. On Tumblr it means those things, but it's more important to stop people saying words like "dumb" or "stupid." Also you're ableist if you disagree with the notion of self-diagnosis, no matter how shitty you might actually have it with professional diagnoses. Calling someone out on abusive behaviors they attribute to the mental illness they say they have? Ableist.

[Gender] Dysphoria
: Pretty much one of (if not the) defining features of being trans/nonbinary. Negative feelings ranging from being uncomfortable to suicidal despair over your body feeling intrinsically wrong. It sucks. 0/10 do not recommend. Tumblr hates it when you say dysphoria is needed to be trans, bringing me to my next point.

Truscum/Transmedicalist: Dysphoric trans people, typically trans men. Holders of the belief that in order to be trans you should experience dysphoria. The bane of Tumblr, I guess. While they can be assholes and there are plenty who will shit on nonbinary people and trans women (not good, obviously) that doesn't hold true for a lot of the community.

Tucute: Fucking ridiculous asshats that serve as the opposite of truscum. Anything can be a gender. Anyone can be trans as long as they say so, regardless if they actually feel that way. Often employs the use of nounself pronouns. They also tend to suicide bait anyone they feel are truscum as well as mock them for experiencing dysphoria. Nasty bunch, avoid.

Pssh will probably add more later but right now this is what I have off the top of my head.

Allistic - Not autistic (why did there need to be a word for this? Because you gotta fill in that list of traits completely!)

Transtrenders - Not a common phrase on tumblr, but among people discussing tumblrites. Referring to someone who picks up a trans* identity to fit in with other sjws/tucutes and earn oppression points. They are often very aggressive against 'truscum.'

Neopronouns- common among otherkin and tucute/transtrenders, wherein a noun or completely made up word is inserted into a pronoun, so that you end up with people using "kit/kits/kitself" and "ve/ven/venself" pronouns. The people who use these commonly will switch them up without warning.

Auxiliary pronouns- common pronouns like "they/he/she" that those who use neopronouns will sometimes graciously allow people to use instead.

Misgendering- In the real world, a hurtful act toward a trans* person to demean them or disrespect their identity. On tumblr, calling a tucute demiboy afab femme sunself "she." Accusations of misgendering are commonly used amongst tumblrites to shut down arguments and avoid addressing detractors. Some tucutes will even conveniently change their pronouns at the right time to force their opponent into using the wrong pronouns, thereby allowing them to yelp "you misgendered me, your entire argument is invalid."

Trans-Fat- a skinny person who imagines that their 'true' form is much larger and that they therefore suffer from fat discrimination. Luckily, this term is usually only used by people trolling sjws.

Tone Policing- A very common defense for dickish behavior on Tumblr is accuse the opponent of tone policing. Tone policing is, essentially, disregarding an argument based solely on a person's tone saying it. While tone policing can be used to try and throw an argument off course, on Tumblr it often means "stop calling me an asshole just because I said people who disagree with me should kill themselves!"

Cishet- A cisgendered (non-transgender) heterosexual. Often the term "cishet" is used with an air of disdain, like a slur. While there are plenty of "cishets" who are quite guilty of fucking over LGBT people, more than half of Americans are in favor of gay marriage and gay civil rights, and these numbers are climbing by the day. On Tumblr, cishets might as well be the fucking devil, whether they're allies or not.

Allies- Tumblr's favorite punching bag. Allies, usually essential for minorities of all kinds in fights for civil rights, are more often than not thrown under the bus by Tumblr users. While it is true there are self-congratulatory allies out there only in it for the brownie points (not to mention the constant frustration of issues being overlooked until a famous white man comments on it), more often than not, allies generally want to help. Allies will be demonized for trying to take over LGBT spaces or trying to replace asexuals in the LGBTA+ spectrum. Often decrees of being an ally will be met with "what, do you want a cookie?" or other such rhetoric. Tumblr's view of allies may explain, in part, the large number of female-born users that slap on different gender and sexuality labels.

Demisexual- Sexual attraction based on closeness in a relationship. Never mind that this describes a great number of people (gay, straight, bisexual or otherwise) and that the term was invented by a roleplayer around 2002 to make their Mary Sue seem more special. Demisexuals are often shy women under the impression that normal people go about having one-night stands all the time. There is an air of slut-shaming in this label, and it's thoroughly useless for describing the gender of people demisexuals are attracted to. Generously, it could be interpreted as "pansexuals who are just picky." It's worth noting that Tumblr gives credence to demisexuality but laughs off sapiosexuality, an equally pretentious label that means "attraction to intelligent people."

Polysexual- Attraction to more than two genders but not all genders. Often used to denote an attraction to all genders except cis males. These people are more likely pansexuals with a stick up their butt.

Cotton Ceiling- A concept invented by a transgender lesbian activist to describe the phenomenon of straight and gay people having a disinterest or a level of discomfort in dating or having sex with transgender individuals, due largely to preference for a certain set of genitals. What makes the cotton ceiling interesting is that it involves a certain level of guilting gays, lesbians and straight people into having sex with transgender people, even if they might otherwise be uncomfortable with it. It's basically coercion by guilt, which in any other circumstance would be described as rape by many of these same people. It's worth noting that while not all straight and gay people have problems with sleeping with transgender people, a lot do. Basically, it's a bizarre form of entitlement in which a transgender person feels they deserve to have sex with somebody who might not sleep with them. I hate the cotton ceiling so goddamned much.

Monosexual- Sexual attraction to only one gender. Almost always used to describe straight and gay people exclusively. Often used with a negative connotation, especially in mass media's discomfort with addressing bisexuality as even being a thing. While bisexuality often carries with it stereotypes of being sexually promiscuous, or only being "halfway to gay," monosexual is pretty much used to complain about an older gay dude that one time didn't believe me when I said I was bisexual, the nerve! It's worth noting that bisexuality is becoming increasingly accepted, especially since it is literally a letter in "LGBT."

Allosexual- Not asexual. Tumblr's asexual community is known for being pretty obnoxious. They're fond of the whole cake thing, about how asexuals prefer cake over sex. It's annoying.

I'll add a few, I'm shamefully well-versed in tumblr-dweller lingo

Body Shaming: Used as a shut-down for any comment on appearance. Favoured by fat acceptance activists. IE: "My doctor told me I was dangerously overweight today! End medical body shaming!"

Species Dysphoria: An imaginary condition suffered by many otherkin. Self explanatory, it refers to when a tumblrite wants so badly to be a fox/dragon that the words "furry" and "otherkin" just aren't enough, it has to be medicalised.

Sapiosexuality: Sexually attracted to intelligence. Like demisexuality, it is often used by straight cis kids wanting to be somehow special and dodge perceived "straight privilege". Sadly, this word is spreading on to dating sites.

Kink Shaming: When someone is called out for having a socially unacceptable fetish, for example, pedophilia, rape or bestiality.

Kintype: The animal, plant, celestial body or fictional character an otherkin "identifies as".

[Will edit and add more as I think of them. Realised somebody had already defined demisexuality better than me so I removed it]

Things to remember:

Otherkin: Otherkin did not begin in the furry community. They began in the company of D&D nerds and LARPers. They were initially considered a boon to whatever community had them, because their creativity and ability to immerse themselves in a setting meant that they could come up with ideas that nobody else would, or help create a better setting in the long run. It's when the furry community encountered it, however, that it rose to prominence like a turgid horse-cock.

Truscum/Transmedicalists:
Technically insist on the medical diagnosis of the condition. Guess what? So does the Scientific community.

-------NEW TERMS-------

Aromantic - Inability to facilitate romantic attraction. Considered less-privileged (and thus more desirable than) being asexual.

CAFAB/CAMAB - Coersively Assigned Female/Male At Birth. Used originally for intersexed individuals that were incorrectly assigned a gender surgically, it was stolen by Tumblr and repurposed.

Columbiner - Twisted, sad motherfuckers who think the Columbine kids were "just dreamy" and make extravagant posts on how wonderful they were, making people like this motherfucker, who lived through the faggotry Columbine caused, feel like humanity has failed.

John Money - The source of the "Gender is a Social Construct" belief structure that is responsible for the current wave of Gender-of-the-week bullshit sweeping the tubernets. A notorious crackpot and pedophile who is best-known for his work involving David Reimer, who was sexually-reassigned under Money's advise after a botched circumcision, leading to Money forcing a gender identity onto both him and his brother, as well as forcing the pair to simulate sex acts whilst he watched and took pictures. Both David and his brother wound up ending their lives. Further proof that no matter how much of a monster you are, Tumblr will happily parrot your bullshit if it benefits them.

Penis Singularity, The - This term has no Tumblr term that I'm aware of, so fuck it - I'm giving it one. The ridiculous logic-hole-in-action wherein Tumblr's SJWs claim that gay men are inherently misogynist because they are male not interested in females and they are sticking their filthy penises into anything other than a vagina. You fucking wish I was joking about this. Range from people saying Gay Porn is misogynistic to people who say gay males in general are misogynistic.

POC - People of Color. Tumblr's relationship with them is both patronizing and bizarre.

Problematic - An SJW catchall term for anything they dislike. Normally used to propose that a given thing they enjoy but has things they don't like in it could be made so much better if it just excluded certain undesirables from it. See also: TF2FandomIsProblematic.

Scientism - A term that took on a whole new term in the Tumblr hugbox space. Initially used to describe a viewpoint wherein scientific progress was considered the most important achievement of a given civilization, on Tumblr it has given way to describe the belief that Science and Logic are more important than Tumblr's feels. A great number of Tumblristas are openly anti-science because facts have a well-known anti-SJW bias.

Self-Diagnosis
- A process by which medical conditions are diagnosed in oneself. Frowned upon and looked down upon, in every civilized nation on the planet due to confirmation bias, it is considered the trendy, correct thing to do on Tumblr, and considered less privileged (and more desirable) than an actual diagnosis on Tumblr.

TERF - Shorthand for Trans-Exclusional Radical Feminist. Comes in both sane and SJW flavors! Does not believe that Transwomen are a legitimate front for feminism, being essentially former males. Whilst this could be the subject of debate and consideration regarding the nature of activism, Tumblr prefers a rage war, especially given that many of its alleged transpeople are fakers, a-la Vade. Often derogatorily called "Trans Exterminationist Radical Feminists" by their transgendered (real or faking) critics.

Transmisogyny - Bias against transwomen. On Tumblr and other social networks, where anyone can and does claim to be trans without any repercussions, this hits a bit of a snag, because even though it is a real thing, it becomes impossible to enforce in a world where people are openly faking their conditions for attention. Hilariously, there is a lot of SJW dislike towards transwomen, who some SJWs see as cultural appropriators, in much the same way Chris views autistic people. (Compare: TERF)

Well hell, you forgot my favorite term:

Trigger: A non-scientific term that refers primarily to trauma and PTSD. It refers to specific stimuli and experiences that can cause a person to recall a traumatic experience or event in their life. Tumblr users, particularly those who claim PTSD, will often create a list of stimuli and items that they state is a trigger. They will often use these triggers as an excuse to lash out at targets, and to direct the flow of a conversation by having others tag posts involving their trigger or isolating themselves by unfollowing them. Ironically, those professionals that talk about triggers, such as Prof. Metin Basoglu and Richard J. McNally state that isolation from a trigger usually worsens PTSD and that the best treatment involves facing these memories triggers, and fears.

Aromantic spectrum - You don't fall in love with every single person you meet, so you're Special.

Asexual spectrum - anybody who doesn't feel like having sex, like, all the time. Good news, that probably includes you! You can pick up your LGBT community member badge at the door.

Check your privilege - Admit you're wrong. Nobody really says this non-ironically anymore though.

Content note/warning - a substitute for trigger warning because "trigger" is gun imagery and might be triggering to gun violence survivors. More a Shakesville thing than a Tumblr thing, though. (See also NB for nota bene.)

Latinx - Gender neutral substitute for Latino/a. Only really irritating when people apply it to someone who is clearly a man/woman because you never know, they MIGHT identify as a bunself. See also "goddex" and "princex". Tumblr really likes X's.

SWERF - Sex Worker Exclusionary Radical Feminist. Essentially anybody who points out that the bulk of self-representing sex workers online are higher up the privilege scale and don't represent the state of sex work globally. Most people who get called SWERFs don't even identify with radical feminism.

Trans* - formerly preferred term for transgender/transsexual that's now the devil, ever since it was discovered that a white cishet male had invented it. After much scrambling the term was retconned to be the work of eeeevil "truscum".

Wom*n/womxn - don't see this one too much anymore, but this is supposed to be inclusive of people who identify as "womyn" rather than "women". The Y is supposed to take the word "men" out of "women". Hilariously, the "men" part is the part that signifies human, so "womyn" pretty much implies women aren't human. (Check your non-otherkin privilege, shitlord.)

Signal boost - Reblogging someone else's request for help (usual begging for money or promoting an online petition). This is often seen by tumblrites as a substitute for actual political and social involvement. It's not unusual for the user to not even contribute the needy cause that they reblogged.

That's actually used more to include nonbinary individuals, not the transtrender/genderspecial asshats. Another stand in for that is Latin@.

Honestly I don't understand why "latino" covering men, women and anybody in between isn't enough (like "mankind" referring to all of humanity and not just men). You gotta involve "@" and "x" and stuff. Does anybody that lives in a Latin American country even do that?

DID YOU KNOW: "Womyn" as a term actually comes from a fucking Beavis and Butt-Head episode. The Episode itself, simply titled, "Womyn," was an episode in which Beavis and Butt-Head try to hit on straw-man feminists with predictable results.

It's worth noting that all studies I've conducted on the matter show that Beavis and Butt-Head was the first work to feature "Womyn" as a term, with the same bit of "we're not just men with two other letters anymore!" and "we don't need men to feel complete!" In general indicating that Mike Judge is a fucking genius. The only other use of the term "Womyn" I've been able to find in a historical context is the use of "Womyn" and "Womon" in Scottish writing.

All indication is that the current term, used extensively by SJWs, came from fucking Beavis and Butt-Head. All citations I've found shows that the air date of Beavis and Butt-Head's "Womyn" episode pre-dates all other major uses of the term in that context by over three months. All major uses of it happened almost four years later, minimum.

This means that the SJWs that use this term are probably unaware that this term essentially began as a joke to make fun of them.

Beavis and Butt-Head. Trolling SJWs since before the advent of Tumblr.
