I've followed Chris on and off for several years, always has been amusing to me. One of my favorite novels is A Confederacy of Dunces, and I can't help but notice similarities. Not just with the main character, but almost all of his relationships.
-Ignatius J. Reilly is essentially Chris but in 1960s New Orleans
-Lives with his mother, father is not present
-Has a long distance relationship with a woman who constantly mocks him
-Often goes on rambling diatribes about modern society
-Has rarely left his town of birth, except for one or two very memorable situations
-Unemployed, but constantly is writing
-Jumps from one thing to another and doesn't care about wasting money
-Cannot hold a job, or takes the jobs that he does get with a sense of superiority
This has always stuck out in my mind, and it's hard for me to imagine Chris without immediately thinking of Ignatius' antics...
