Geez, only way this could be worse is if Clinton backed it.

Maybe the "Humanity's been wiped out" part of the description is a good thing.

Beast Boy/Michelangelo noooooo! And that line-up of voice actors makes me so sad because they're so talented, and then they pull this shit. (I mean, yes, it's no different from when Tiny Toons and Animaniacs did it, but they weren't so in-your-face about it then. They also weren't very mean-spirited about it.)

When are people going to realize/learn that making Pop Culture: The Series doesn't automatically make it timeless? They can be done well, but it will still age a series if it doesn't have anything else to bring to the table. And I don't see this one being any different due to its blatancy.

Despite the impersonation being pretty spot-on for Rump, the art-style's insipid and uninspiring (only thing that's funny is Kim Jong Un being portrayed as a pig, but all of the animal caricatures are still pretty fucking obvious that it's not clever), and the animation is as limited as it gets in modern-day animation--although granted, this was probably done on no budget since they need that money anyway, but still, if that's the best they got, it's laughable. This is going to be forgotten when all of this blows over.

106 backers, and $19,000. Good God, did they all have nearly 200 bucks to blow out of their asses?

Animaniacs made pop culture satire, but they didn't make it the only thing to them.
This is just a very long, poorly thought off attempt at trying to be "political" and funny. Instead, it will turn into something worse than Gen Zed, because this thing will age worse than meat in the sun, the moment Trump is either out of office, or two weeks after each episode ended and became old news thematically.

The entire thing is blatant, quite frankly looks also racist (Pootin? Really?) and the fact it is going to be improve comedy featuring one of the unfunniest preachy vegans I ever heard of, does not fill me with confidence.
Those VA want to make a change in the world. Yet all they do here is just trying to get a rise out of a hype.

Did they steal Donald "Rump" 's (fuck whoever thought up that name BTW) design from The Angry Birds Movie? He looks just like a smaller, orange version of Red. I'd like to see this get shut down because of a lawsuit from Rovio.

Also, Sean Astin's going to be in this? As in "Sam from LOTR" Sean Astin?

Is this going to be the spirtual successor to Gen Zed?

short summary: attention whore Tara Strong, her colleagues from Teen Titans Go and other attention whores in the business want to make a cartoon about Donald Trump asa chickling. And it will be improv comedy.

You'd have a harder time listing things Tara Strong wasn't in than things she was in.

Man, they're even throwing Zuckerberg under the bus.

Good.
It feels like they're attempting a "Let's throw everyone under the bus" kind of thing other, more successful parody shows try (if Zuckerberg and Un's presence are of any indication). But with the focus being Trump, and it being co-spearheaded by Tara, a woman who's gone off on Trump before. It feels like that aspect will be second to all the Trump bashing.

To quote the kickstarter:

It is our intention to produce the show as a 2D animated series, so that we can act on current events quickly. Donald Trump has an amazing ability to do and say outrageous things, and the media eats it up. We’d like to take on this reality and use real life situations, funny or not, translating them into the alternate reality we’ve created. The humor will be adult, crass, and you should occasionally feel uneasy with yourself for laughing.

Understand that we are patriotic Americans with a genuine respect for our institutions. Our show isn’t meant to be mean spirited or angry. It is no secret that many people aren’t happy with Donald Trump. Instead of building up anger or screaming at the moon, we want this show to poke fun at stereotypes and “burn” the heck out of the injustices we find. Left, Right and Center…no one is off limits, not even ourselves. If we can’t laugh at ourselves and more importantly at our leaders…well, who knows what, but we should definitely laugh at ourselves and more importantly our leaders.

Now, some of the characters such as the lead ‘President Rump’ are a parody of a real life counterpart, others are completely unique to the show, such as Rump’s children, so that we can build our own world and not have it be an exact mirror of reality. We feel that taking an idea or theme from the headlines and making it fit into our world in a unique way would be the best approach for keeping the show fresh, entertaining, and full of humor.

Although the show may be vulgar and dark in ways, it will have a strong message of hope, and civility. The country may or may not be run by a hateful megalomaniac but that doesn’t mean the American public can’t be respectful towards women, tolerant of other cultures, or just kind in general.

Yeah, not going to buy that they are going to make fun of EVERYONE

Oh shit, that is him? I thought Sam was played by a different actor this whole time. :(
Well... the guy actually went into VA later on in his life, so it is him.

Thign is, I have no problem with VAs having political opinions and sharing them with others. In a meaningful way.

This is just some guy whose main contribution to the world is that he voices Beastboy and Michaelangelo doing a piss poor imitation of Trump and acting as if he is part of some resistance if he manages to chimp out ONE episode of a cartoon they don't even have a 11 minute short of in nine months or so.

Greg Cipes is one of those typical millenials, who think that ebcause they have a fanbase and talk about meaningless hippie bullshit, they are going to change the world.

He wants to change the world? Donate the 20k you got already to starving children.

Unless this show manages to be like South Park and churn out an episode in less than a week, then the episodes will probably be dated before they even air.
This shit was dated even before the Kickstarter started.

By this point, everyone and their grandparents has either mocked or ridiculed Trump for whatever reason. Even Trump himself did this back in the day.

Does anyone remember Li'l Bush? Anybody? No? Didn't think so.

Li'l Bush was a flash animated series that aired on Comedy Central near the end of George W. Bush's presidency. It had a few funny moments, but overall it was clearly meant to only air a few times and done on a hasty budget. This feels like that, only without any irony.

These VA's imo are very talented people. With all that money and those resources, they should really be doing something worthwhile. Jim Henson's "Fraggle Rock" was a prayer for peace during the Cold War, but he didn't go around attacking the political heads with the show, he tried to encourage everyone to understand each other and come together. "Fraggle Rock" of course has aged very well and is still rerun to this day. This show? Won't last a few weeks.
