A New Golden Age of Chris? -

So, as we've probably all noticed, Chris has started posting weird and creepy videos to YouTube again. Between videos of him trying to seduce women online with his man-cleavage, giving out his email to "women" who are "interested" in "dating" him, and playing out his innermost feelings with Amiibos, on top of the continuation of Sonichu, we may have a resurgence in the legend of Chris Chan.

You guys feel like Chris is falling into old habits again and will start regularly posting hilariously awkward content again, do you feel it's just a one time thing, or what?

He might be a little bit wiser than before but I don't think we'll see him doing any of the main embarrassing things he's done in the past

Chris isn't as naive and open to suggestion as he once was. Part of the beauty of previous trolling was how easy it was to wind him up and get him to do stupid shit like the singstar competition, the comics and all the weird shit he made for sweethearts, not to mention the whole mess with bluespike.

Chris is indeed back. But, I don't think this new era will be the same as the glorious 2009-2010 years. He's wised up to trolling to a degree and I think the sweetheart sagas and the ranting send ravings won't happen again. But that isn't to say he will be boring. We just have to accept that this new emergence of Chris will be different. Frankly, I think that's for the best. I've never been more optimistic about following CWC.

From what @Marvin has mentioned, it sounds like Chris still only does videos when someone's holding a Megatron pistol to his head. I'm enjoying the ride for now, but it probably could end at any time once the latest troll flames out.

After hearing from Marvin that Chris only does videos when he's essentially forced by somebody behind the scenes all my optimism that we were about to go back to the good old days has now faded.

Originally I thought Chris's return to making Youtube videos was buoyed by improving self confidence and a desire to promote his amibos to his target audience but if it's true that he's just making these videos because he's essentially being prodded by a troll behind the scenes then sadly like when Jackie was making him upload videos the fun isn't going to last.

With that said I'm enjoying the ride for now anyway. We all should. It's nice for Chris to be producing some new memorable videos, whatever the motivation.

Far fewer people follow Chris than in 2009, when he stirred the hornet's nest that is 4chan. He's no longer new and fascinating. This means fewer and less organized trolling efforts. On top of that he's not as gullible now, and his anger is better managed.

Chris rebooting Sonichu is something he was thinking about for months in advance, if his Facebook posts are any indicator.
Chris's recent attempt to reach out to da ladies is quite confusing, however. It doesn't seem like something he would do, it seems like something a ween would convince him to do. I guess it's possible his recent activity has been spurred by a combination of factors, possibly including a skilled ween (Hi, DStecks!)

The difficulty in figuring out Chris' motivations these days is that he doesn't operate according to any reasonable logic. You can never predict if or how he'll react to something. He'll be virtually silent for months, then he'll do something insane. So while I don't disagree with the idea that Chris is being pushed, I also don't think it's implausible that he's doing it of his own volition. Why, only he knows.

While I am rather pleased with the strange resolution problems of his recent videos, nothing will ever match the grainy charm that the PS3 eye videos had. Or the innocence of Chris presenting Sonichu to Nintendo. We may see some more entertaining content from Chris, but he will never be what he used to be.
