No matter how you try to spin it, the substitute teacher was in the wrong. That was inappropriate conduct, especially to a little foster boy. I'd rather a gay, loving couple adopt a child than to have them pass through the horrid foster care system. That's by no means good for mental health, anyway.
IIRC, the dude who plays Mac on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" was raised by a lesbian couple. He's always spoken positively about his two moms.

Adoptive parents are inspected while biological parents have no such mechanisms in place.

What the teacher said is certainly permissible from the Christian point of view (though not an SJWs and perhaps not the Law's) and is in accordance with her Christian faith, but she was not doing a helpful thing. She is not doing a thing to build up the boy's sense of gratitude. The teacher has done wrong, not because she told the class that homosexuality is wrong, but because she did so in such a way that might prevent a greater virtue from emerging.

A sub shouldn't be giving their opinions on anything, if a gay sub sneers at a student excited about going to Christmas Mass and goes off on a rant about the evils of Christianity for 30 minutes the exact same thing should happen imo.
