aaaaa42 (or Alex 42 for short) is an insanely prolific cow I've been keeping tabs on for over a year now. At first glance, one might assume that Alex is just some kid who likes to shitpost on Tumblr for fun. However, the sheer quantity of posts (often hitting the post limit in a single day) and their bizarre, nonsequitur nature leads me to believe that Alex is a little... off...

Spoiler: a sampling of shitpost insanity

Not much is known about Alex42. His general location, actual name, profession/schooling/past times, and family life are almost entirely unknown outside of vague one-off stream of consciousness postings. He never posts pictures of himself that reveal his face, although in some pictures you might be able to catch a glimpse of his hands or body parts. There are also grainy, strange videos that he has uploaded to Tumblr before in the past, but the pure volume of posts plus the lack of tags on anything he's posted have basically forced them away into obscurity.

One thing is certain about Alex, though-- he's the antithesis of a Tumblrina. Most threads about Tumblrcows involve malingering trannies or vicious he-said she-said drama, but Alex is a different breed of cow entirely... a Tumblr schizocow, if you will. I don't know if his posts are the result of pure mental illness or drugs (I believe he experiments with DMT, at least has referenced it in some of his vague shitposts) but he's mostly harmless. In fact, I've found most of his posts to be unintentionally hilarious.

His tumblr is aaaaa42.tumblr.com (which, for some reason is dashboard view only). I believe he's also currently working on a Soundcloud audio project, which I will keep tabs on as well.

Initially I thought this was another Tumblr postbot experiment gone awry (this is a new fave trend for Tumblrina programmers; they make posting bots who cobble together original posts from reading Tumblr, and the best ones without a doubt are the meme spouters like memelovingbot or shitpostgenerator).

This is...something else to say the least. It's word salad-esque enough to seem like a bot but it's far too incoherent to be a bot.

i've been following them for a while, too. i can't remember anything they've ever done that's anything more than silly tumblr shitpost spam. surprisingly, shitpost blogs like this one are extremely common. that's not to say that mental illness or drug use isn't involved here, but the whole nearly-incoherent ironic shitposting thing is really popular in some circles right now.

the millennial article reblog was meant to parody posts with millennials expressing really aggressive anger over the fact that baby boomers don't understand the current generation.
i mean yeah, the reblog comment alex typed was barely coherent, but the insanity is intentional and meant to blow it out of proportion.

he's the weirdest fucking thing to me; his responses narrow down to weird one off shitposts that i'd expect from someone heavily medicated (ambien especially) so the notion that he's mentally ill is almost certified. he's a jenffer "cow" cranked up by x3 and it ends up creating some really lol-worthy shitposts

holy shit, I guess I never caught any of that stuff in the time I've been following him. Like I said before, he posts at such a frequency that unless a post of his becomes popular enough for a mutual to reblog, anything of note tends to become buried within his blog pretty fast. I don't think I've ever seen him use the tagging function either... and if he did, it would probably end up being word salad anyway.

I've actually seen those latter two comics go around on Tumblr from time to time. I honestly didn't think they came from such an exceptional individual; they seem much more...coherent than the rest of their material.

This guy? girl? thing? is definitely an enigma. We can't even really seem to verify if the dog abuse is real (I sure hope it's not, for obvious reasons) or just more of that strange word vomit.

I really doubt it's word vomit, it's too coherent to be. I don't know if it did or didn't happen, but it's not just something random.
His non-shitposts make sense, there's a real person behind the blog, just with a weird sense of humor and a different typing style.

With all the album stuff he's uploaded (most of which was vaporwave/related experimental music), it didn't seem as likely, but looking at his newer videos (and most of his abstract humor videos before his music uploading) it seems like it's the same person.

I think you're onto something here. I'm watching some of these and seeing the same sort of fucked up, bizarre style as Alex on Tumblr. They're all kind of random and shitpost-y. Plus, there's no logical reason why someone would use such a similar username. I believe Alex occasionally changes the number of A's in his Tumblr username at times as well, but I could be wrong about that.

If it's art, he's gone off the deep end with it and there doesn't seem to be a real point.

I've known people to think not washing or brushing your hair will give you dreads. It is possible he believed this.
