Gumball looks like it was created by a bunch of animation interns who are trying to hamfist their style into a cartoon series. It's generally okay but it's too much of a kid's show for me to watch.

No clue what Gumball is besides the title and that it is a cartoon. Is this actually good or is it poorly made?
It's meh - It's got a weird sense of artstyle and it's a big hit and miss.

The jokes are hit and miss. The animation style is pretty interesting if anything. A Gumball episode can fill the time, if anything.

Enter can't really do the series justice, but it is probably one of the "better" kid shows out there. I mean, for a kid show at least, but I don't mind watching it if it's on.

"It does black comedy well."

Bahahahaha! King Enter wouldn't know black comedy if it crawled up his ass. He always calls it "mean spirited" (a phrase that has now lost all meaning) or "disturbing". I must admit, I hate Gumball's humor, so if there is black comedy, it's lost amidst the screaming, screaming, screaming.

I can't wait for the Metalocalypse review where he says, "Nobody in this show is likeable. The bandmates are assholes. The Klokateers are assholes. Dr. Rockso is their Megward the Wizard. All in all, it just comes across as mean-spirited and disturbing. And that's not even getting to the real shit. I went into a three-day depression when I saw Toki's cat die. It reminded me of my stupid dog."

"I was watching South Park and this Eric Cartman character is just too mean spirited."

So Gumball, from what y'all said, is a decent if unremarkable show. That said besides the MLP nut hugging this list sounds more balanced (for lack of a better term) than his animated atrocities stuff. Am I correct in thinking this? Admittedly not the biggest Enter expert.

@Headbanger General: Black comedy, in general, seems unpopular among the Internet cartoon morons these days. I don't know why. Dark humor, when done well, makes for terrific programs like Billy and Mandy.

@DrChristianTroy: I stopped watching CN in 2010 so I've never seen the show, but it's been on for a while and it has a fan base of sorts, so it's doing something right.

Gumball is definitely a hit-or-miss show. It either does something really new or interesting, or does something that's been done before (it's usually the former). As for this review, it wasn't really good. Most of it consists of MrEnter talking about how good the show is, rather than the episode. It isn't his worst, and he actually made a meager amount of good points here, but it is still pretty bad.

The writing is not too great, but the animation is amazing. Nearly every character is done in a different art style. Some are CG, some are 2D, some are Claymation. I watch it when I can't think of anything to draw.

I get the impression that most of the people ITT haven't seen Season 3 but, Gumball is possibly one of the funniest cartoons on the air right now next to Gravity Falls.

The humor can either be good or really bad. But whatever...

Anyways, I didn't really like this episode in general. It just goes to show that Gumball hasn't been able to do stock plots well since I last saw it (Season 1 I think). It definitely can't do romance IMO.

I'm not even a fan of Billy And Mandy, period - and I know that right now, we Westerners could use some good Black Comedy right about now, just to fill that void. Sometimes, you have to be a little mean-spirited to truly get things right. Just like IRL. And that's neither here nor there.

Yeah - I really don't get why Black comedy is so easily bashed nowadays, neither - when it is mostly non-existent. And crap like South Park and Family Guy does not count as this, even if just IMHO.

He thinks it does "black comedy" well, but when there's actual black comedy in it he calls it out. He said on dA he hated a particular joke that boiled down to a dead baby joke. (Gumball brings a delivery pizza to a family of pizza slices, but he drops it right in front of them and they're horrified)

I'd say Gumball is a pretty good show for what it is. It's no masterpiece and it won't make you like cartoons if you don't already do, but the care and effort is generally there even when it misses from what I see.

Hey, you know, if I could get past the subpar comedy in the show, I'd be all over it. I really like the animation. It's unique and well-done, so I have to give credit where credit is due. But man, I don't know how anyone can watch it without being annoyed to all hell.

Screaming doesn't make jokes, and fittingly enough, I find that King Enter has a habit of screaming his lungs out in his "reviews".

I don't watch many cartoons that are on now. When I do, it's usually with my younger sibling. Gumball just has the look that it would be popular with autistic fanatics (Enter), but I guess I shouldn't judge a book by it's cover.

That's the feel I get with a lot of these CN cartoons.
