Adult Swim Oddly Jabs at Those Supporting Sonic Movie Redesign -

Western TV block Adult Swim, well-known for its “zany” and “creative” bumpers, has taken a jab at the fans who helped bring about a better design for Sonic in his upcoming live action movie, stating that they are “grown-ass adults who should have more important shit to do”.


The bumper, which praises the new design:

While Adult Swim bumpers are known to be abrasive and insulting for the sake of “comedy”, usage of the phrase “grown-ass adult” possibly serves as a major implication as to what type of individual is responsible for writing the bumpers.


This is further accentuated by one individual who pointed out that the TV block has previously labeled the utterly despicable Zoe Quinn as a “pioneer in gaming history”:

Honestly though I've never believed the design from the first trailer was genuine. I think they purposely showed something so god awful to generate publicity and already had the real thing ready to go. The fans didn't do shit, they were trolled into thinking they did to create misguided good will for a movie that will still be an abortion regardless of how Sonic looks.

There’s a novel called The Difference Engine, which is an early steampunk work, in which Lovelace actually is the first computer programmer, so I don’t know if it came from that.

- A massive conspiracy that involves paying the VFX house to make a fake trailer using expensive models and CGI that will never be used?

OR

- Some fucking boomer execs want to make Sonic “””realistic””” and forced the director to make his version - and now thanks to the massive public backlash, the director was able to make a case for why the should delay the movie and change Sonic’s design?

One of the Japanese sonic creators literally came out and said that he told the execs not to go with the old design but they did it anyways, and if it were really a bait-and-switch, somebody, somewhere in the massive production chain, would have leaked it.

The golden of Adult Swim’s own programming ended with the conclusion of the third season of Venture Brothers in 2008 and the golden age of their airing of anime ended with the conclusion of Eureka 7 in 2007 imo.

I’ve seen a few episodes of Rick and Morty and it was pretty good I guess, but it’s been over a decade since they were at their height, while I’m thankful for back then, my teenage years would have been a lot more boring without it, it’s been a slow decline into irrelevance ever since.
