Jumping on the bandwagon. People tend to only remember the 1960s when it comes to Alabama, which doesn't really tell the state's whole story. I've lived here for all of my life, so I'm willing to answer any questions truthfully.
Huntsville is ok. I like it. I'm from the central part of the state (think Birmingham and Tuscaloosa), so I'm not really up there very often. I always enjoy myself every time that I go, though.Huntsville, boring town or most boring town?
(Though the Van Braun is pretty cool the first hundred times you go, lol)
Giant fucking asshole. I had never cast a write-in vote before 2012 when I voted in the Chief Justice election. (I think I wrote in Bradley Byrne.) He's a complete piece of shit, and I don't think that there's another Republican that I hate as much as him, although some come close.Judge Roy Moore. Discuss.

I mean, you can find people like that in literally every state. It's not like there are people like that just walking around everywhere. How accurate was South Park when they did this thing called "Alabama Man"?
No. My family members have always been Republicans, even when that wasn't popular in Alabama.Okay, now I must ask, did your family vote for George Wallace in 1968?
Eh, it's about equal.Do you guys really take the Iron Bowl more seriously than Easter Sunday?
Eh, it's about equal.
The Alabama/Auburn rivalry is a huge part of the state's culture, though. There's nothing like Bryant-Denny Stadium filled to capacity while watching the cow college lose a football game.
I haven't really listened to much of his music. I like Buffalo Springfield though.Does Neil Young grind your gears?
Yeah, I don't even drive on those days. Not worth it.Every autumn I literally have to sit down with two calendars and prearrange laundry trips for the next three months so that they don't fall on home game days.
The population of Tuscaloosa is 95,000. The seating capacity for Bryant-Denny 101,821.
I lived with my mom in Tuscaloosa during football season one year. I got caught in postgame traffic ONCE. I was glad when I found work in Huntsville again the next spring.Every autumn I literally have to sit down with two calendars and prearrange laundry trips for the next three months so that they don't fall on home game days.

Yeah. McFarland sucks on a normal weekday. It's literally impassable on gameday.I lived with my mom in Tuscaloosa during football season one year. I got caught in postgame traffic ONCE. I was glad when I found work in Huntsville again the next spring.

Like with any other place, Alabama has stereotypes. There are some pretty redneck people in more rural areas, but you'll find that in literally every other state. I've never met any Deliverance people, though, and I've been here all my life.As someone not from the United States, why does Alabama have such a bad reputation? For example, I saw a 'joke' on Facebook the other day: "If a couple gets divorced in Alabama, are they still brother and sister?" Is it really that bad?
The furthest "South" I have ever been in the USA was Raleigh, NC so I have no context whatsoever![]()
Do you think I have a real purty mouth?
