Alain de Botton is a failed self-help novelist & pseudo-intellectual who believes in Freudian psychology and Marxist ideologies. When his shitty books like Art as Therapy began to sell like the shit they were, he decided Youtube would be more profitable. Thus, the "School of Life."

In case you haven't noticed, for all of their animated videos, they ripped off the style of the guide entries from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie, only with inferior artwork:

The only thing more insulting than his propaganda videos or his attempts to try and rub himself with the cologne of Douglas Adams, are his views on sexuality.

As you can tell, he is about as reliable an intellectual as Erich Anton Paul von Däniken is a reliable historian.

Even better is that, while being a staunch Marxist, he, much like Karl Marx himself, is a complete hypocrite. If you read his Wikiped page, you'll discover that he was actually born into a rich family & has access to a large trust fund granted to him by his father & enjoys the wealth from his novels, Youtube channel & merchandising quite well rather than give it away to the working class as he constantly puts forth to other wealthy people in his videos.
