Ride - Tarantula had an amazing album cover, it could have easily been as iconic as Unknown Pleasures or Dark Side of the Moon if the music itself wasn't so-so.
I've been doing album exchanges with a co-worker and his entire musical scope is nu-metal. Listening to a lot of them recently I've discovered metal has really perfected the art of putting cool looking covers on bad and bland albums.
Aside from Kids Are United everything on this album is just utter trash. It's a shame because there's real potential there which thankfully they eventually brought out in 60 Second Wipeout
Albums that I'm omitting because I don't want my feed full of disagree stickers: Rosenrot by Rammstein and Diesel and Dust by Midnight Oil. Artwork and singles aside I find both to be terrible.
I made a labeled chart to preempt any possible 'what's that album' questions. I like many of these, but not as much as their art. If I go through my CDs and records I could probably find dozens more.
Bought this without listening to a single track on it, after coming across the album art while looking for pictures of faceless men.
The album is generic faux alt rock and the blank faced men on the cover is even more jarring and potent, given that there is absolutely NOTHING about the band, it's members, etc online. The image itself might just as well be the band itself and not a stock photo that was doctored to remove the faces of the men, given that that the members of Deke Falcon are faceless and anonymous.
