Alex Jones v. Brianna Wu, Andy Kimmel, & The Young Turks, LLC - Withdrawn by Plaintiff Jones in January, 2020.

I can't imagine

I haven't seen anything official yet, did he withdraw the lawsuit? @WrenchWring it'd be great if you could update the OP with any major updates to the case.

Nothing official yet; thus far it's only been a tweet from Wu, so not really a reliable source. However, since the jurisdiction issue is fairly obvious and should result in an easy dismissal, it isn't exactly far-fetched. That said, there's nothing to indicate Jones wouldn't just re-file in Massachusetts if he so desired. It really doesn't mean much at this point.

Jones doesn't need anything out of Wu. If she keeps defaming him he can bring back the suit easily. The lawsuit's publicity is as good as anything for correcting the reputational harm born from the initial statements.

Whether or not he's Alex Jones, the original CP allegations were utter bullshit and nobody acting in good faith would have thought they were true in the first place.

As others have said, it was easy to do so and got publicity about this out there. Truth be told, he doesn't really need to prevail in this lawsuit to "clear his name". Numerous other individuals, websites and publications have already clarified what actually happened. Just filing the suit is enough to get the word out that he wasn't the one responsible for the child porn, since nobody involved has disputed that fact thus far (and most likely won't).

Frankly, given the questionable nature of the complaint, I'm not sure if Jones ever really intended to get this to a jury in the first place. He was probably just fishing for a retraction while simultaneously portraying the defendants as liars (which, by proxy, makes him look better).
If only that worked for Vic.
