Alex Elmslie, better known as ImAllexx online, is a shallow YouTube commentator deriving from the UK. Alex is mainly known for his coverage of drama and happenings among e-celebs (along with various other topics), which has managed to garner him an audience of around 2 million subscribers over the years. While most of his commentary videos are harmless — albeit pretty awful for their lack of research and substance — Alex himself is no stranger to drama beyond his mere coverage: The guy has had quite a history of blindly supporting unproven accusations, backstabbing so-called friends of his, recklessly spreading false narratives around, and getting called out for his hypocrisy time and time again. For those already familiar with Alex, this thread has been a long time coming. Only reason it's taken this long, as you'll get to observe throughout the examples shown, is how Alex will always try to slither his way out of taking full accountability for his actions like the slippery snake that he is. This has allowed for any drama with him to essentially die off over time and be left as nothing more than a distant memory. However, rather than let him keep getting away with his bullshit, this thread will document and consolidate all of his notable past actions, with likely more to come down the line.
The Ostracization of Zaptie
Back in around 2016-2017, there was an up-and-coming YouTuber by the name of Ed Berg, better known online as Zaptie. He dropped out of law school and shifted his focus to making commentary and film review videos on YouTube, with the vast majority being incredibly well-received. All the positive attention would eventually give Ed the opportunity to collab with some very popular creators, including the likes of Pyrocynical and Leafyishere. Had Ed kept on track like this, he likely would be incredibly successful to this day. Unfortunately for him, things wound up taking an unexpected turn for the worst:
Ed had created a podcast with two other YouTubers, BionicPIG and Elvis the Alien, called "Hot Wet Soup." In January, the Hot Wet Soup channel had a new episode drop called "The End" where Ed did not make an appearance. ImAllexx, who was close friends with Ed, took his place for that episode. In it, they said some pretty damning things about Ed including:
>Zaptie was shit talking Elvis behind his back to other people in the commentary community
>Zaptie convinced Pig to move with his wife near him, but then planned to move to the Omnia house himself, without telling Pig
>Zaptie hadn't been talking to Pig ever since he visited him and his family, and had supposedly been kissing up to other YouTubers
>Zaptie was cheating on his girlfriend with four other women
>>>Zaptie was a diagnosed sociopath and a pathological liar
This podcast was removed as a result of Hot Wet Soup returning. I have simply re-uploaded this for archival purposes. https://www.youtube.com/c/hotwetsoup
It also didn't help that there was a screenshot of some DMs going around, along with an accusation being put forth that Ed was a pedophile that had been chatting up and coercing a 13 y/o girl into sending him nudes:
Ed responded in an initial tweetlonger to the podcast episode, and later responded with a separate statement addressing the hate + accusations via his subreddit. He owned up to having made numerous mistakes and tried to disprove some of the accusations put forth. This was also where he announced that he was officially retiring from the internet as Zaptie as the name had become so tainted and hated amongst the YouTube community, to the point of people contacting his private cellphone number telling him to kill himself:
So by now you may be wondering, "How does Alex fit into all of this?" Some people have looked back on the situation and have seen what Alex did as having thrown Ed, a good friend of his that he nearly moved in with, completely under the bus. Whether or not he truly backstabbed Ed is up for debate, though Alex was very much responsible for having Ed be labeled as a sociopath and a potential danger to others. It's also especially notable how Alex publicly called Tommy C a "predator" for having gone against the narrative being put forth.
Here's a conversation Alex had where he claims to have been pressured by others wanting him to distance himself from Ed:
Disclaimer: This “Blues Dank” long lost stream exits on the Nicholas DeOrio 2 channel to not take Alex out of context in my Zaptie series. If Blues Dank requ...
Truth be told, this entire debacle would likely be forgotten about had it not been for a video from Turkey Tom covering the subject, as well as two other vids from Nicholas DeOrio (Part 1 + Part2). They're pretty comprehensive rundowns of what happened, even going so far as to prove that Ed was not in fact a pedo thirsting after a 13 y/o girl, but was in fact catfished by the girl who cancelled him*.
*That's not to say that Ed wasn't in the wrong for this, as the girl was around 16-17, nor can we say that the other points raised on the podcast were entirely false. It's mainly just a clarification toward the flimsy narrative that many people blindly ran with regarding the sociopath + pedo accusations.
To some extent, I think Keemstar sums all of this up pretty well:
Before moving on, credit where credit is due: @MilkToasty has tried making a thread about this situation in the past, which is where the podcast points and some of the info/materials are from. Hopefully this entry will suffice in its stead.
Cancelling James Charles
A couple years after the situation with Ed had passed, a new set of accusations, followed by a massive wave of drama would be unleashed regarding beauty/makeup YouTuber James Charles. Here's a super condensed overview for those out of the loop:
- Tati Westbrook, a friend of James's, would drop a bombshell video accusing James of not only betraying her by working with a competing beauty company, but that he also engaged in some inappropriate and illicit behavior, such as him constantly talking about wanting to have sex with straight men.
- Right away, James finds himself losing thousands upon thousands of subscribers daily.
- Other people like Jeffree Star, another prior friend of James's, come out with more accusations and hint at some illegal activity involving predatory behavior.
- James would make a video responding to a lot of these accusations while providing receipts (this came after a prior apology that was pretty terrible). This would manage to disprove a lot of what was put forth and would restore the community's faith in James.
- About a year later, Tati tried to pull a 180 and went after Jeffree + Shane Dawson by pinning the blame on them for her making that original bombshell video. Shane's career has taken a massive hit as a result, though that's a whole other story entirely.
In regards to how Alex fits into the big picture, while he himself wasn't a part of the beauty community on YouTube, he did meet James before in the past and got along with him pretty well. Some might say that he was even pretty thirsty for the guy. But of course, because this is Alex we're talking about, he decided to make a video denouncing James Charles. And wouldn't you know it, the dumbass dives head first into believing all of the accusations and treats them all as pure fact, despite there being absolutely no official confirmation at that time beyond dubious DM screenshots and hearsay. He also gets on his moral high horse about how he's had so many friends that have taken advantage of other people and how he's cast them aside, being the moral saint that he is.
Except, that's not what was going on at all. Once James Charles had come out with his response video that provided receipts, the narrative completely shifted in his favor. Unsurprisingly, Alex had no choice but to follow the crowd and put out a new video defending James Charles. He goes on to act like he's been incredibly skeptical all this time and would lambast the people that made these false allegations."He literally said because he's famous, he can literally do what he wants to this man who is straight, who was just doing his job for them. 'I'm a celebrity I could do whatever I want.' Now that could be a joke. A really terrible joke. But, if you actually look at all the evidence, at this point I think it's undeniable that that's what's been going on." —Alex (6:32)
James Charles Tati apology has caused even more drama since his response to Tati Westbrooks bye sister video. In todays video we address the allegations and ...
How absolutely rich coming from Alex.
The most egregious part of it all, as later pointed out in a video by Kavos, was that Alex's original video denouncing James Charles was still up with over 2.7 million views and multiple mid-roll ads. To avoid taking responsibility, Alex ended up removing the video some time later as a convenient way to quietly sweep it under the rug. Thankfully a copy was archived (found above), where you can still see Alex for the literal clown he truly is:
Then again, that's more of an insult to actual clowns.
A Friend Named Slazo
It would only take about a month to go by until a new set of accusations were released in 2019, this time regarding a popular YouTuber by the name of Michael Kurchaski, aka Slazo. There's already an existing thread talking about all of the drama as it was unfolding, which I highly recommend reading for further context. Otherwise, as a quick introduction:
Michael's ex-girlfriend Chey had accused him of being incredibly controlling of her life, having both verbally and sexually abused her many times. DM screenshots would also be released to corroborate this. Alex and others in the commentary community were friends with both Michael and Chey, though they all instantly took Chey's side and would go on to publicly rebuke Michael for quite a while.
Keep in mind that when I say "friends", I'm not just talking "intewnet fwiends"-type shit. Beyond collaboration videos, Michael and Alex had hung out on many occasions and had even lived together for a few weeks before the accusations came out. Now, that's not to say that Alex was at fault for wanting to believe Chey – after all, it's completely understandable for anyone to be supportive of an abuse victim. Rather, the core issue was how Alex had once again thrown a so-called friend of his under the bus, especially without hearing from both sides on the matter. Thus, you'll soon begin to realize how unlike those prior examples involving James and Ed, Alex's behavior throughout this whole shitshow would eventually reveal his true colors.

Remember how James Charles had made a response video that disproved many of the accusations put forth and ultimately turned the narrative on its head? Well, Michael himself managed to do the exact same thing, having gone through each and every DM screenshot to prove how they were all taken out of context and/or intentionally twisted (video found in the Slazo thread OP). At worst, he was willing to own up to the fact that he'd been a bad boyfriend to Chey, which was a far cry from the monster that she made him out to be. At this point, rather than choosing to hear Michael out, Alex and co had instead decided to double-down against him. Alex in particular would put out a short video response + a couple tweets (below), showcasing his willful ignorance on the matter:

Soon enough, Alex and co had found themselves on the receiving end of the hate train, with numerous videos coming out that criticized the gang's behavior. Alex naturally went into damage control-mode, as one such video pointed out how he was censoring his own comments section from mentioning Slazo's name:
And as if all that wasn't bad enough, Alex would later be caught lying about Michael having taken advantage of a drunk girl while sober at a club/party they both attended in the past, with Alex playing the hero by separating Michael from the girl. This was one of his main reasons for why he was so willing to believe Chey's accusations + distance himself from Michael. Yet unbeknownst to Alex, a public Twitter photo of the encounter would surface showing how everyone involved (mainly Michael and the girl) were all having a good time. And on top of that, Michael would give his own side of the story in an interview with Nicholas DeOrio + others, which ended up easily debunking Alex's fake allegation:
Hold on, I think I'm getting this weird sense of déjà vu...
Alex's involvement in the drama was so awful that Keemstar, Tommy C, and Colossal is Crazy had all managed to reunite for the last episode* of their defunct podcast "Baited!" just to shit all over Alex. A few highlights included them calling out Alex for doing little to no research for his videos, his total mishandling of the James Charles allegations + Zaptie fiasco, and how he's a talentless hack that sucks the dicks of bigger creators like Pyrocynical for personal gain (Colossal, who was previously friendly with Alex, confirmed this himself).
*They recently reunited for an unofficial episode to shit on Alex a second time.

It would take about a month after Michael's response video for Alex to finally issue an "apology", albeit a very cold and corporate one (notice the lack of an actual "sorry" and more of him saying that he's already apologized privately):
Over a year later, Kavos got to interview Michael about the aftermath of the drama, as well as his general feelings on Alex. The one thing worth noting was that when Alex had apologized in a private call to Michael, which Michael felt was pretty sincere at the time, Kavos revealed that Colossal was the one who had to push Alex twice to apologize. So in all likelihood, Alex wouldn't have apologized on his own volition had it not been for Colossal.
You'd think that Alex would have learned his lesson after recklessly spreading fake allegations on three separate occasions. But once again, because this is Alex the snake we're talking about, it’s become second nature for him to keep running his mouth and ruining the reputations of others. A more recent case involved a video he put out insinuating that Perez Hilton, a celebrity gossip blogger, was a pedophile because A. he disapproved of 15 y/o TikTok star Charlie D'Amelio making videos of herself dancing in a bikini (apparently Perez finding it inappropriate puts him in the wrong) and B. was interested in some shirtless guys on TikTok that Alex assumed to be underage (despite both of them being well over 18 y/o). Michael admitted in his aforementioned interview with Kavos that he almost made a video calling out Alex, as he was absolutely disgusted by how Alex nonchalantly labeled Perez as a pedo.
Additionally, Alex went on a podcast to slam Kavos's manager Kristin Sturt, essentially claiming that the guy was responsible for not paying the participants of an irl fighting event. However, Kristin was not working for Fame MMA, the organizers of the event, and was instead acting as a talent agent that would get a cut of the money that any participating influencers would've made. Unfortunately, the damage had already been done to his reputation: Many people pinned the blame on Kristin for the failed event, going so far as to harass him daily for something he had no control over. When Kristin told Alex to apologize and clear things up, Alex chose to put out a totally half-assed "apology"/clarification on his defunct second channel, where he barely accepted any responsibility for the damage he caused all on his own:
There's a very slim chance that someday, Alex may try and make proper amends toward everyone he's wronged in the past. Though unless Hell freezes over, we'll most likely witness some more drama and backstabbing from him within the next year or so. Until then, best wishes to all those wonderful friends he keeps ever so close to him.
