I am now (supposedly) 10,000 days old and the humans still have not seen me for what I am: an alien.

I was very lucky this species has such varied behavior in their young, otherwise I would have been picked out right away. They merely thought I had "behavioral problems" and wrote me off as a "special case" which is the label they give to anyone they don't know how to deal with.

In my childhood I had no clue as to what was going on; no way to express myself properly, no idea that I should be trying to hide my differences and adapt. Looking back, I can see the signs of the truth I have come to realize. There were others like me; obviously hybrids but not to a uniform degree. The humans had even unknowingly given us hybrids a name: Autistic.

One would think this is a handy way of identifying my kin, but that's not entirely true.

I guessed the blending of two different species' DNA was less of an imprecise art and more of a roll of the dice. This conclusion was reinforced when I saw how wide the range was. The term "autistic" applies to such a broad spectrum that it can be sometimes difficult to tell if those classified as such are truly one of us.

Some are completely nonverbal, instinctively closing themselves off from a world they do not understand and find painful to live in. They often have increased sensitivity to sound, touch, taste and smell; experiencing what humans normally do at several times the intensity.
Very rarely, a few of us gain significant abilities in some areas at the cost of deficiencies in others. They are prodigies in math, art, music, and some have incredible memory capacity.

Those are the easy ones to spot; it's the ones at the other end of the spectrum, the "high functioning" autistics that are harder to pin down.

They, like me, have learned to blend in almost seamlessly to the human population. There are a few traits that are nigh impossible to hide, though. Most are written off as eccentricities. Rigid adherence to patterns and structures, narrow fields of interest, odd social quirks, the pedantic way of speaking that can be confused with arrogant superiority. That last one is because humans don't understand us well enough so we have to overcompensate to make sure they get it right when talking with us.

Make no mistake- we are well aware of our deficiencies.

The commonly shared experience of bullying and incompatible education systems in our youth has seen to beating the confidence out of us. Those of us on the higher end have learned to keep to themselves, to not draw attention, to stay out of the public eye. We well know the pain of being singled out as "different". Human children can be viciously anti-other, sometimes.

This has given us "autistics" a bad rap. We are lumped in with the "loners" and when a high-profile crime such as a murder is committed by one, the media jumps at the chance to put the blame on us if there is so much as a whiff of 'mental illness'. They avoid facing the unpleasant truth that all humans are capable of it. In fact, "neurotypicals" -AKA "normal" people- are far more likely to kill than we are. "He was a quiet man; kept to himself, mostly" is a common refrain; as if being forced to live in a society we find uncomfortable, if not tortuous, has no impact. As if everyone who would rather be left alone -and actively try to be left alone- is a killer.
Hell, we're more likely to kill ourselves than they are- nine times more likely. Some of us just can't take being so different; most of them don't make it to their 20's. Thirty to fifty percent of us have thought about it at least once.

Most of us feel broken at some point. I certainly did. Technically, we kind of are.

Others agree with that sentiment. To a degree that they think autism is a disease that should be wiped out. What they don't realize is that they are advocating xenocide.

I must confess, I once feared humans would purposefully purge us from their gene pool. Still do, a little bit. The movie Gattaca was a terrifying awakening and from what I have seen of humanity, I wouldn't discount the possibility. Thankfully, most are extremely uncomfortable when the topic of eugenics comes up. Any discussion about human genetic modification is around congenital defects like cancer and even organ defects.

Yet for all the hardship we go through, all the discrimination, all the suffering we must endure, I do not hate humans for this.

Their ignorance protects them. It is not a specific decision for children to pick on us for being what we are. They grow up and learn, for the most part, how to be civilized individuals. To care, or at least empathize, with others. The adults who do not outgrow their aversion simply do not understand us, and, as humans have throughout history, don't like what they can't understand.iIt's instinct. A bad one, but still instinct; one that can sometimes be overridden if they know who, what, and why we are.

As it is, they see us as human and treat us -mostly- as their own. Even if the truth were to become known, that an alien species had crossbred with theirs in order to survive some unknown calamity, I suspect they would -again, mostly- welcome us. We did not choose to be hybrids, we just ARE.
There might also be a fair amount of pity. After all, we are progeny of a failed race. Worse, we are not perfect hybrids- far from it. My ancestors must have been desperate if they knew the odds of compatibility were so low.

However.

In my studies of "autism", it looks like my people have succeeded in surviving... after a fashion. There are an estimated 50+ million of us world-wide. It sounds like a lot, but the humans are 8 billion strong and counting. While there are many of us, I'm not even sure if my brothers and sisters realize who we truly are. Most probably think they struck out in the genetic lottery. A few may have arrived at the truth, as I have, but wisely keep the knowledge to themselves. It is much easier to simply try and be as human as we can.

That is what I have decided to do.

For better or worse, we are part of the end? the human family now. I am grateful they have taken us in, even if they do not know it. Perhaps especially because of that.

I will end this final journal entry with a quote from a cartoon character in a very similar situation:

"This is my family. I found it all on my own. Is little, and broken, but still good. Yeah. Still good."

I know I said Ultimate Overkill would be the next post, but I have a good reason for this one. I had intended to post this when I was 10,000 days old but I fucked up the math as usual and 10k day was actually on the 6th of February. Oh well. Pretty close. I wanted to get it posted before too much time passed.
Rest assured, U.O. is in the final stages of editing and should be posted next thursday at around 12am PST.

This is actually a very personal story. I've always felt out of place -broken, even- and thought it might make for a good oneshot. Sometimes I get so disassociated with reality that I look in the mirror and get very weirded out when I see the reflection. Like, Wtf is that? That's nonisim.

4. Is it possible that there is a correlation between Experiencers (abductees) and so called learning disabilities? Autism, Aspergers Syndrome, Dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, ODD and other developmental labels that the school system and the medical field has put on children, partly so they can now be given drugs? These children are very intelligent they just learn differently.

I think the main reason is to keep them more manageable. These are all brain abnormalities, and has been observed in over 85% of Extraterrestrials experiencers.

Research must be done to see why researchers last year described brain abnormalities present in the womb. Thisshows it is no longer something the child is given such as vaccinations, but something going on before they are born. Experiencers tend to have more electrical activity going on in our brains than normal people, and it makes sense if one looks at Autism as a disorder of over-sensitivity to the world.

Is Junk DNA part of it? Are women in the hybrid program having children with human/alien DNA thereby causing these abnormalities?

If the children were born on extraterrestrial ships or planet would they be geniuses by our standards. I believe this is the reason the extraterrestrials take the fetuses during an encounter from the mothers who are in the hybrid program and never return them.

Does the alien human DNA mixture cause these abnormalities?

Is that why the extraterrestrials keep our babies?

Do they have technology and due to their superior intelligence, can they assist our children, who are wired differently with human/ alien DNA. Do our children learn and grow with their own superior intelligence? This might be conjecture or could it be quite possible?

Many experiencers including myself have seen the hybrid children do telekinesis, telepathy and other amazing abilities on board the ships. From some abductee reports, we can assume that the aliens are unaware that their creations, the alien-human hybrids, may also be autistic. An abductee reported that when she was taken onboard an alien spacecraft, she remembers seeing an alien-human hybrid “flapping” his hands just as her autistic son does.

Here is an experience I discover through my research. “A woman’s son, age 8, starting wearing a #3 helmet. Previous to the helmet he was diagnosed as autistic, had reoccurring nightmares of what he said were monsters, and told his mother that aliens told him to obey them. However, he reported that he was abducted on his way to or from school. He had several unexplained marks on his body and told his mother that he had surgery. A neurologist who examined the boy said he has an abnormal EEG.” His doctors report that his autism has improved markedly. So did they heal this child?

The prevalence of children with autism jumped by 120% in eight years, according to a new survey from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). There is much talk of over-diagnosis of psychiatric conditions. Parents are indeed increasingly keen to name and treat juvenile behavior that might have once seemed benignly immature. However, for autism rather than for attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, for example, a bigger challenge is diagnosing too late or not at all.

The CDC found that children were most commonly diagnosed at age four. Uta Frith, Emeritus Professor at University College London says that “Arguably, exploring the mind of the autistic person is the nearest we ever have gotten to meeting an alien intelligence.” “As an autism researcher I know that in the last 50 years we have discovered some amazing things about the autistic mind, but there are so many more to be discovered.

“Arguably, exploring the mind of the autistic person is the nearest we ever have gotten to meeting an alien intelligence.” What is so different about the autistic mind? This is the question I am obsessed by.”
.

I have even discovered that children with Down syndrome have differences in their DNA as well. Is it possible there is a extraterrestrial connection to some or all of these so called learning disorders and syndromes? Since some of these syndromes are found in the womb. I will continue my research on this topic.

5. Deep thoughts for the day:
Listen not to the alien, look not upon the alien, speak not unto the alien!
He who allows the alien to live shares its crime of existence.
The more one learns of the alien, the more one will come to loath it.

8. I feel like one reason we are attracted to aliens because they are the final boss to a game ala Mewtwo and Gyiyg. It is the true singular climax. Aliens are amazing and I'm so glad I'm one of them!

16. FWIW: There's a hypothesis that Walton faked the whole thing in an ill-thought out way to get out of a logging contract he was well behind on and about to be fined for failing to meet the deadline unless anything "unforeseen" happened.

His crew being too scared to work in the woods for fear of alien abduction fit the bill in a Scooby Doo villain kind of way..... and the personal fame that came his way was either an unforeseen benefit or all part of the plan to make enough cash to get out from under his obligations.
