That's the crazy part of this whole saga, she could have very very easily spun things her way and landed a fresh new job after the Nintendo fiasco. The girl can speak two languages, and seems somewhat exposed to the software development industry.... hell, even moving to Tokyo and starting fresh could work really well for her, in fact, with her experience she wouldn't have much problems finding work.
Anyone but Ali, sure thing! But because she is basically a low class ho and has serious mental problems, she wouldn't work out. I don't think Japanese culture would take to a bimbo like Ali either.

And she is too old and has samsonite luggage for eyebags to be a geisha girl or consort.

So, I would add if she went and got appropriate treatment for her mental issues, cleaned up her hooker act and then did what you say, yeah, she'd have done ok for herself.

Too late for that tho! She had to ruin her life on the internet instead of doing the right thing and going dark for awhile.

Oh yeah totally, her mental problems prevented her from doing anything like this in the first place. Working in Japan on the other hand, that's a bit more unknown, female sexuality is viewed a fair bit differently than it is in the west and working as a "call girl"/hostess/whatever is seen as culturally acceptable, but you'd never talk about it directly. But on the other hand, maybe she'd come across as a total weeb? From what I could tell when I lived there, the Japanese hated that.

Right on, I hear ya. Just the eyebags kind of sinks it for her if she goes the sell her sexuality route! LOL

Cool that you lived there too! Pretty much opposite side of planet from where I live, but it definitely would be wild to go.

there was this site called luelinks I used to be on and allison rapp was doing a photoshoot with a user and he posted a thread about it. some sjw whiteknight ended up dm'ing her screenshots on twitter and it was apparently a big thing. This was a few years ago though
Well, a few years ago she was gainfully employed in PR at nintendo and thought she was a super genius who could be a prostie on the side, and advocate for child sexuality using her company twitter.

As soon as 3-5 years have elapsed since the firing and associated controversy, that's ancient history in tech biz terms. All she'd have to do is have a pat little "what I learned from my time being a crazy person on the internet" story to recite to interviewers, and she'd probably be welcomed in with open arms. The tech sector is seriously scrambling for people in non-technical jobs (marketing, HR, sales, etc.) right now, with LinkedIn postings that were getting 100-200 applications last year now getting 15-50, with up to half of the applicants being random H1B seekers that have no relevant experience or qualifications.

Literally all you need to get work in the tech startup industry is some experience, regardless of how it ended, working for a company even tangentially related to the industry you're applying in. Any resume gap or whatever would keep someone out of the really fantastic companies in terms of employee treatment, stock price, or brand recognition, but there are a lot of startups with a 3.7 on Glassdoor and a "master's degree preferred" position in non-technical areas that's been open for 3 months or more.

Speaking of which, if the big thing this post has made you think is "why am I not getting on that startup gravy train, I'm a harder worker than Alison goddamn Rapp," you're right, you should be getting some of the gravy, too. I'm not joking, PM me if you think you have some tangentially-related experience and would like some advice into how to spin it into relevance that could get you a well-paid tech sector job. Warning, you'd have to end up on the west coast with the potheads and the darn dirty SJWs, but we make up for it with live spot prawns and Dungeness crab.

I dunno, did you go to work afterward at a job with some level of responsibility, or have you been manning a fryolator? If it's the former, probably yes. If the latter, you're going to have further to climb to get out and get in.

Software engineer here too.... that gravy train just keeps getting better, its fucking easy too.

But more importantly, Ali could have taken advantage of this too, and you're totally right, 3 - 5 years is nothing. She can sit there in an interview and sperg on about being one of those "internet crazies", but after some introspection, its time to get shit back together. I'm sure all those kids in California would hire her in a second, even in Australia no one would bat an eye lid.

I'm a little surprised she hasn't popped up anywhere yet, surely we'd see her name up on some start up's about-us page, or something similar.... unless she is just stocking shelves in a wal-mart in the middle of nowhere.

Most of them don't actually update their staff pages frequently (people move around too quickly, employee churn rates look like something you'd have seen in a minimum wage call center in 1993), and most only list people who are relatively high up in the structure. It's not too hard to be practically anonymous, except to people you're having actual communication with internally and at other companies, below SVP level at a lot of enterprise-level companies (doubly so if you're B2B instead of B2C, less customer-facing would be good for her). And I think Alison's resume and skills would let her top out via the Peter Principle into a manager position, maybe director if she plays her cards exactly right. Which isn't nothing. Salaries are going up all the time, depending on the specifics of where she got involved ... I'm going to guess product marketing if she's continuing in a career track, because it's got a lot of qualifications very relevant to her skillset ... she could probably go from fired at Nintendo -> Contract jobs for bullshit companies -> Startup with catered lunches and a title that says "manager" but with no direct reports in 3-5 years. That'd pay a salary of $65-80k even if she hitched a ride back to Minnesota, $110k in NYC, $125k in the Bay.

I think reports of her career's death have probably been greatly exaggerated, and TBH I think that's pretty much okay. She's kooky and has gross proclivities, but that doesn't put her out of step with a lot of engineers making twice what she'll ever make. The important lesson I hope she (and anyone ever hiring her) has learned is more along the lines of "learn what to keep private and don't be a public facing employee if your personal life is embarrassing," not "you'll never work in this town again, you're ruined!"

You can't just learn how not to be a sociopathic borderline personality who can't go more than a couple months without completely self destructing.

I'm under the impression she's still jerking off the beta-orbiters in her private discord, selling them "exclusive prints" and other digital goods of her body.

It's been about a year since I locked this thread - she's not back online, but I've received a couple tip-offs.

Firstly she registered to vote earlier in the year, she moved into an address like 1 block away from where she used to live. I'll post the address if it ever becomes relevant again. Secondly her father died in May and she was listed as a living descendant.

Thanks to all who've been PMing me updates, I hope she comes back soon so I have a reason to unlock.
