What's now a bigger mystery to me is why they chose Allison's tweet to virtue signal. Especially when the main parties who pushed this (Marzgurl) knew the accused in her tweets wasn't Vic. Surely there was some other crazy fujo out there tweeting about what an awful guy Vic was because he didn't want to endorse their creepy porn. As we've seen with this saga, there's no shortage of insane, sex-starved fujos out there who dislike Vic.
I think that's ascribing more planning than they did. With one glaring exception, this feels like one of those "random event triggers pre-existing inclinations to riot" kind of mob behaviors.
KickVic would have you believe that it sparked off the existing rumors, but what Allison really sparked off was the existing fujo hate and VA jealousy. MarzGurl and the con staffers, who had zero evidence to offer but already disliked Vic, would eagerly and stupidly amplify anything that might bring Chad Vic down.
That one exception is the MoRonica Circle. I don't believe they planned Allison's stupidity, but they definitely took advantage of it. Monica got her friends and housemates to band together and orchestrate the Funi investigation; as previously noted, that investigation wasn't sourced from Twitter, it was sourced entirely from Monica. She leaks the investigation to Ron, everyone runs to ANN/iO9, and the mob just rolls on.
We don't often point it out, but Vic is suing exactly the right people for this. Random sparks and brainless amplifiers are annoying, but the planned damage and negligence are all facing down BHBH right now.
(I'd mark ManJaw as a mandatory Round 2 addition, but she wasn't a major player when the lawsuit planning started back in February. She's got way worse since then, especially with the Tekko and LibertyCon TI campaigns. Allison is a Round 3 luxury at this point.)
