The fictional universe in head she likes to pretend is real has gone through so many retcons during her (current) Amari phase that I don't think even she can keep a consistent storyline going. Even if it includes abandoning a child, probably as Jacques kept telling her not to sit on them when Amanda got angry. Its also possible that she only kept Jacques going because she thought she had created a meme and people would like her for it.

Also, you have to question why the hell James would put up with all this bullshit. The terrible imaginary world that Amanda pretends she is in, all the abuse she inflicts on dogs and children, getting driven off social networking platforms every other month when users find out about her, and a house that no doubt stinks of dog shit and cheese-covered ramen.

I pretty much agree with everything here - except the bolded. I think she is genuinely in love with Jacques still, but she views Jacques as a hallmark of her "past". That was why she broke up with him initially. I feel the back and forth is her struggling to decide if she wants to be blissfully ignorant of the past, or embrace it.
But I think she is still genuinely horny for Jacques, and the amount of goblin lookalike porn she favorites on Furaffinity is key indication of that.
In her mind, Jacques represents LadyALT. And she cannot decide if she wants to demonize that phase of her life, or if she misses it and longs for its comfort again. So she jumps back and forth, maybe unaware she has this association, and chalking it up to fictional abuse Jacques puts her through, and changing the narrative as it needs to be. Which leaves us kiwi onlookers confused as fuck wondering what her deal is

I find her back and forth with Jacques interesting. With autism, it's normal for a "special interest" to either be forgotten about over time, or for the person to have phases of intense and low interest. With Jacques, it seems to me like she keeps going through this phase of intense and low interest, but in an odd way. Instead of just focusing on her other goblin when she's not currently into Jacques, she goes off and paints him as an evil abuser or whatever the fuck she made up now. I think the theory of her associating him with her past has some good merit because that's not something a normal sperg does. It's also funny that she tries to deny she's still into him, because it's quite obvious she still is. Just admit that sometimes you wanna talk about your other dude more. It's not a big deal, woman.

I'm not saying either is good but her art has become more uncanny valley in recent years in my opinion. Because of her overdetailing in some spots and underdetailing in others, IE, the eyes.
Looking through her old LadyAlt gallery depresses me a little. Like again, not saying she was a good artist but she was actually trying. Shading was a common trait on pictures and she did way more art trades, and some pictures actually look really nice in comparison to her modern art. If you can stomach the porn and you're a thread newbie, I'd really recommend looking at her old gallery to get an idea of how things have devolved.
