The left was positive that Obama getting elected was the death of conservatism, and a lot of progressives and conservatives thought that Hillary Clinton losing was the death of neo-liberalism. MAGA as a brand will probably get co-opted like the Tea Party did and get dragged down by the fringe personalities. I don't see centrist ideals or right leaning populism going anywhere for at least another 2 elections.

if history has told us anything, the worse shit gets the more attractive populism becomes, and most people are even subconsciously aware what got us there (not to mention most of them are dumb as a brick, you could clone hitler and they'd vote for him if he wore a LGBT shirt and say black lives matter), so the left is out. Funnily enough that reminds of Inauguration Day and the Presidential walk from the Capitol over to the White House. If I remember right newly sworn-in Presidents always do the walk (cannot recall what Trump did), but Biden and family rode in the limo the entire way. Some might say that was a precaution (don't know which scapegoated Proud Boy white supremacist NG/Marine will try to take a shot with his imaginary bullets), but you know who did walk? Why Harris of course, with family in tow. For a President supposedly physically fit and mentally capable, there sure are a lot of strange decisions in how Biden is choosing to engage with the public.

And if anyone thinks that'll change over time, just note that Biden is unlikely to have an actual face-to-face with any foreign official for a long time. Covid has a purpose beyond benefiting big business, who knew.
