Very fun game for fucking with people.
I once got down to 4 of us remaining. I was innocent, and I knew lime was innocent, so I called an emergency meeting and accused the last person who said lime was sus. When asked for evidence I told them 'I got this feeling inside my bones, it goes electric wavy when I turn it on.' This was enough proof and we ejected the suspect who turned out to be innocent. I called another emergency meeting saying that it has to be the last dude. When confronted on the fact that I'd gotten an innocent person killed, I told them 'No no, that was funny memes.'

We successfully eliminated the impostor based on the defense 'It was just a meme'. 10/10 game.

Had some shit heap troll call an emergency meeting for no reason then refuse to vote. Stuck on the screen for a full minute as he wasted everyone's time. Between that and ridiculous accusations, it's pretty fun.

The only reason I play this game is because the people around me are playing it and if I didn't play it I'd just be sitting there doing nothing. The game is just too shallow to keep me engaged, and every round feels like the same thing played over and over again. It killed Fall Guys for massively popular causal party games and it will be killed by whatever the next big thing is. The only thing I have to appreciate about these kinds of games is that when they're around I don't instead have to hear the dreaded words "How about League of Legends?"

Haven't tried it yet, but from the looks of it Traitor mode in Barotrauma is more fulfilling.

It's weird that somehow Nux Taku ended up being some sort of voice-analysis savant that can detect imposters from the first thing they say.

I wanted to make this thread last month but I honestly didn't expect it to get anywhere.

My group gifted it to me and we've been hooked, if only we could coordinate more we'd play it more. We quickly decided the "mute yourself" rule is stupid and just talk casually during the game with a gentleman's agreement of not talking about the game itself (aside from saying you got a smooth card swipe or straight wires).

I think my favorite memory, even if it's an L, was when reactor was going off and I saw my friend at one of the scanners so I just left. Turned out he was the imposter and just let the reactor go off. He would have killed me if I did try it anyway so either way he won that round.

Aside from that, I've been addicted to Toast's videos (and branching out to his friends like Sykkuno).

I'm really happy for the game and it's nice to see such a beautiful indie success story. Everyone's using this game as an example of a good game in contrast to the AAA industry's utter inability to make anything even playable despite their capital. It actually makes me wonder if this is just a fad or the start of a new genre, maybe other games in the same playstyle will follow. I know TTT's been around forever, but that didn't exactly have the success of Among Us. Actually TTT had a lot of faults that Among Us didn't, same with SS13. Again, might just end up being a fad, but with how much it refined, simplified and streamlined the "werewolf/mafia" style of play, it leaves groundwork for future games to improve on it even more. It's really fun to play with good friends or just watch streamers play with their good friends, just that vibe you get when playing it is so warm.

I've been playing a lot recently, just random stranger matches. I find the dynamics of the debate phase fascinating. I specially enjoy watching witchhunters herd opinion to get the wrong crewmates blown out the airlock only for the real impostor to snap their necks near the end. The absolute lack of critical thinking, reflected in a cool game.

I like playing pub lobbies to familiarize myself with the maps, but the debate phase is definitely better if you can find a group to voice chat. Over text, 90% of the time, the first and loudest accusation wins, unless the accused can pull some serious rhetorical ju jitsu. I've had users call me an impostor for being able to type complete sentences quickly instead of text spam.
It is fun to take advantage of how knee-jerk everything is as the impostor though. I managed to pull off a 1v7 a few days ago after they found my partner jumping in a vent at the start of the game, just by constantly self-reporting and accusing whoever I knew wasn't grouped up at the time, and then sitting back and letting them maul each other.

You know theres a 3D Among us type game called unfortunate spacemen? Thing is its more complex and theres perks. Weapons and other fun stuff. I think its super cool, given it was released two years before among us with essentially the same theme and idea executed differently.

Check it out, its free.

It is just mindblowing. Usually just yelling loudly and repeating accusations is enough to get someone thrown out the airlock.
I've quickly learned that typing a complete, informative sentence usually makes you suspect and most often get thrown out. My favorite tactic as impostor is just messing around with sabotaging and faking non-visual tasks, letting the other impostor do the killing, and occasionally earning trust points by low-key vouching for some rando, only at the last instance betraying the fool and killing him.

I admit that whenever a Corpse compilation shows up, I'm compelled to watch it.
I find it funny that Corpse gets sus'd out frequently now because he has the reputation of "that guy who's really good at playing impostor".

"So, where are we heading?"
"Straight to Hell, buddy."
CORPSE with the one-liners.

The reason I posted this is that there is a mod someone made that allows the players only to use voice chat if they are in proximity to each other.
This certainly changes the dynamic of the game.
