Avoiding a powerlevel here, but before she went all anti-radfem and imploded on twitter (mid 2019 ish, if I remember correctly) they absolutely did. In offline radfem circles quite a lot of women were worried about her, because of her seeming instability and tendency to 180 on friends and block them out of nowhere. The UK radfem clique is pretty tight, and more controversial members - Posie Parker is a good example aside from Dyess - get talked about a lot at radfem meets, because their means of activism is more contentious.

Nobody in UK radfem circles could give a rats ass about Dyess any more though, meetups and the like went down the pan when covid hit and are pretty much exclusively online only until the last couple of weeks. Haven't heard her mentioned by anybody in at least a year.

Pretty sure that like 99% of all the women in the world would declare themselves to be TERFs if gender criticism was explained to them in a way they can understand it. She actually has a point there. There is, or at least used to be up until 10-20 years ago, a trend in some lesbian circles where butches competed to be more masculine (which also used to be the norm in the 1930s-1950s when the scene was illegal and underground, but that had died down a bit with the influence of feminism in the 70s and the rejection of gendered roles). That's where the whole stereotype of 'butch with an attitude who wears a harness to fuck femmes' comes from.

This trend has now been largely substituted by just trooning out. Many butch lesbians now complain that all of their butch friends have become trans, and not only the young ones but also those around 40 and even 50 years old.
