I don't want to go over this whole thing again because god knows its been done to death, but can we all agree now that Jace hates Spec Ops: The Line for much more personal reasons than we were led to believe because of the recent Schizophrenia reveal?

It's suddenly a lot more clear why he didn't like a game where you play as a delusional marine running around thinking you're the hero only for hallucinations to fuck with your head and the game all but insulting you for thinking you're a good guy.

I agree with you that Jace's hatred of the game is probably spurred by underlying awareness that he's living a lie, but I don't think Jace has put enough thought into it to draw apt comparisons between his life and the characters from the game. Bear in mind that Jace's ability to objectively discuss topics and be honest with himself is very low and subject to his mood.

That's actually hilarious - Once (ages ago!) I quoted "Ozymandias" by Shelley to Jace and he was extremely confused. It's kinda ironic that he's been exposed to it like this!

From what I have noticed with Jace, is that he is basically a manchild (IE 22 going on 13) with poor impulse control and a lack of social norms (As demonstrated by his screaming in public at a Starbucks, his assault of a random patron and pouring salt on strangers) and is highly gullible (The Muslim Ghost Incident). He clearly has a substance abuse problem (Covered to death on this forum) which does much to contribute to his erratic behavior, and his family life is rather questionable (Seeing his interactions between him and his mother).

His antics seem amusing at first glance, but are ultimately quite disturbing when you look deeper. I suspect that a decade or more down the road, Jace will go right off the rails and either end up as yet another crazy homeless guy, or worse, end up institutionalized or even imprisoned...

I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish by posting the absolute barest facts about Jace there is. At this point that wasn't an analysis, those were all observations one could make from any two random videos. It's all been covered thousands of times before and it didn't offer any new insight.

I don't understand Gail. I'm surprised honestly that she does try to get him to take his meds, but I also think she's making his condition so much worse in ways she can't even begin to imagine. Treating him like a kid constantly doesn't help the schizophrenia but it really reinforces his baby like behavior and at this point he's probably going to be like this always. He's legally a fucking 23 and its not even legal to like, ground him.

It's VERY clear that early on in his life when he was diagnosed with his illness that it was handled very poorly and that's why he keeps it locked away behind thousands of delusions and its truly sad he had no one to help him with it.

I'd love to know more about this. Gail obviously knows her son has issues - enough to nag him to take his meds and call the jerkops on him when he goes AWOL, but she's clearly a terrible parent, letting her son get away with practically anything and failing to prevent him embarking on a self-destructive spiral of livestreams, drug abuse and drinking. She only ever finds out how deep the rabbithole goes by accident - like when she found his puke-bucket, or when she noticed he'd tried to bulk-order .50AE ammunition on her credit card - and she continues to try to force a dangerously ignorant brand of brimstone-and-hellfire Christianity on a clearly vulnerable YOUNG MAN. The fact Jace still drives, still makes videos and still claims to be a US Marine are damning evidence that Gail messed up big-time in raising her son, even if she does (vaguely) understand that Jace is mentally ill.

I don't think we could judge her too harshly. There has never, ever been any evidence that Gail ever sat down and tried to understand Jace. Just constantly telling him he's wrong, what he likes is wrong, who he is is wrong, and that killed whatever Jace was as a kid and warped him into who he is right now. I think Jace is a nice enough guy under all of his shit and mental problems, I don't think she would have had to reign him in if she wasn't such an oppressive cunt.

Now Gail just sits around and pushes him off to other people while vaguely looking after his well being.

Not exactly the same as sending a 19 year old to Khe Sanh during the '68 Offensive, but I think it could go down that general path.

Now, I'm hesitant to think that any recreation, dramatization of war, or even footage of war can emulate actually being boots on the ground there. However we know how far down the rabbit hole Jace goes with his roleplaying, with his self-insertion in things to carry his illusion of actually having been there. We've seen this during his last time in ARMA II.

It's probably nothing we'll ever see on livestream or whatever, unless someone flashes those casualty pictures from Chechnya, Syria, or whatever on Fact Zone or a call in segment in lieu of a dick pic, but it makes me wonder. Will he have immediate disgust and snap back? Or will he sit there for a few seconds and ask questions about what he is seeing.
