If you take a look around, you'll find that a lot of the most popular furs are white collar engineers, comp sci specialists, other lucrative technical careers, or are well off from family/trust funds. Money to go to every con, get a new suit from whoever is most popular every three or so years, and flood the fandom with commission art of their character.

And with that cushy privilege they devote their whole lives outside their jobs to living in some kind of constant fetish fantasy while positioning themselves as activists online. It's lazy, gross and just...empty of any real meaning.

Add on top of that the power fantasy of shit-upon nerds and sex creeps to wield the kind of power and clout of the people they feel shamed and shunned by (normies? I guess?) and you've got toxic fandom soup, extra crusty.

You're right in saying that vex doesn't know who the hell she is. I just don't find it necessary to hammer on gender identity issues. Even if she swings it like a weapon, it's personal and that's fine.

It's the fakeness, smugness, and complete lack of self awareness that makes me think she's a piece of crap.

I'm actually something of a moderate by farms standards, I'll typically acknowlague pronouns as long as I believe they're actually trans (I also find some farmers distaste for trans people often borders on...unwholesome.) I don't think Andrew is trans on the grounds the evidence is sketchy at best , he uses it for social clout and he's a collossal attention whore, theirs overall more evidence that he's a Troll account as opposed to a genuine person and that would be a big stretch.

I think she's legit trans, a lot of autistics also have gender dysphoria and are transgender (which explains a lot), she's pretty committed to this and is taking hormone pills - although I can't tell if she's feeling better now that's she's transitioning, she should really move on from her coping habits like non-stop arguing on twitter. People do try to call out Vex. People with a long history of calling out Vex even back in the shining glory days of their alt-right ideas have tried. The problem is that she no longer understands how to listen, criticize and moderate herself, which given that she used to be a Gamergater white supremacist and yet stopped that, suggests Vex once had this capability. Instead of just being a U-turn, it's more like a η-turn. Turned around once, then kept on going.
Vex can't internalize the idea that what she does on Twitter is self destructive. It's a coping thing that's grown out of control into being what she does for most of her life now. It's clear it takes up so much of her focus and energy that nothing else gets done. Nothing else even matters when there's cops that exist or whatever online.

As for the argument about Vex's legitimacy in her transition, I'm not a professional and I'm not sat in her head. That said, I think she's going at this too fast, and part of the reason she's doing everything at a breakneck pace is the craving for online clout. She doesn't know who she is, she's not even giving herself a chance to find out and that's sad.

Vex isn't really dressing that feminine in this photo, and Vex has admitted that they've been confused about their identity even after deciding to take HRT. To add to this, IIRC Vex doesn't live with their parents and that's the other big reason why someone who identifies as trans won't even try to pass. The trend I've seen with Vex still applies, Vex is confused about their entire life and not just their gender. Vex clearly wants to be something, but sees that something as "sit all day on Twitter and be an activist". A few years ago it was the #GamerGate hashtag, today it's being a far left furry. And Vex has gotten far more attention as a far left trans furry compared to being a #GamerGate supporter.

That is a good point, and to drive this home further, Vex seems caught between wanting to express very masculine (their fursuit has beefy biceps and washboard abs) and kind of feminine. Either way, their self-image is skewed. A part of me feels like they're only drawn to being trans because they feel they'll never be the swole SICK GAINS, BRO alpha chad werewolf that they had fantasized about. Vex is a lil' scrawnjob, so it probably seems like less effort to transition to being a woman rather than going to the gym regularly and working out.

So many other parts of Vex's identity seem to be in flux, so it's hard to take them seriously on anything. They're pink-pilled now, sure, but what happens when the next popular identity movement with influential people comes along?

This is the part I'm not down with personally: it doesn't matter to me how vex identifies or how they wish to express their gender and sexual identity.

I just can't stand people wrapping themselves in a flag as a means of posturing and deflecting criticism. I cannot stand smugness over empty activism role-playing.

There is no growth or positive change since their gamergate days. New paint job, same troll behavior, same overly aggressive parroting of easily retweetable sound bytes, zero real world effort.

And I feel bad for them. That kind of susceptibility and naivete is what got *me* hurt more than once. But chipping thru all those layers of false bravado and narcissism is like beating your head against a wall.
