Actually...I'm pretty sure he drew the one on the left too. Like...he COULD draw okay if he put his mind do it, but just doesn't want to.
I call it "warped anime ripoff syndrome", where Dobson has spent so long ripping off Rumiko Takahashi, that he can't help but draw shit all like that forever and now it's morphed into its own special abomination.

Well he was taught how to not do it, and then "unlearned" everything College taught him because how dare those evil professors say Andrew Dobson is not amazing.
The left one is a trace of a render. You can tell Dobson didn't draw it because it has consideration for things like proportion and depth.

I wonder if that was him genuinely being too lazy to make a character sheet and sticking with it or him adopting that stance once people started pointing out how inconsistent shit in Steven Universe is.
Then again, I assume he always had the lazy attitudewhere he didn't bother to stay consistent in his art and stylized SU into some sacred calf, that he can point at and go "See, they don't care about consistency either!"

Huh, so that's how it happened. And I always get a chuckle at Hat Andy bragging about blocking kids. Shows just how out of touch he is.
He was always inconsistent with his character designs. Hell, he couldn't even keep track of the number of fingers on their hands. I assume he was just lazy and then when SU came along he tried to use it as validation.
Even by Dobson standards, freely admitting that you're blocking kids on Miiverse is insanely pathetic.
And now that the truth has come to light, Dobson's lie about it being 'kids' harassing him made him look like even more of a pussy than if he was straight about what really happened.
I'm surprised that it's that benign post about the shadow and not him calling players in a kid's game 'tiny little lesbians' that got him trolled.
The sad thing is, Dobson's interpretation of the character would be somewhat passable if only he didn't adhere to the philosophy that every character he draws must have that awkward grimace, as if they saw just him naked.
Now that I think about it, this may just be the ONLY completely animated thing Dobson has released since his days as an animation student.
Imagine that this guy wants to work for Disney, and yet the ONLY thing that motivated him to even attempt something like this was LESBIANS.
Same with the comic before he quit: He only wanted to do it because the Muslim Vampire was also a LESBIAN.

This is just me and my circle of friends, but I've noticed that straight guys' appreciation for lesbian porn goes down as they get older.
