I think Gab will be fine. There are thousands of Skilled Anons that can help them audit their code for free.

Gab was doing pretty well before the hack. Gab TV, even though uploading is restricted to Gab Pro Members, is one of the only Youtube Alternatives that allow HD 1080P Uploads

They only let employees alter code, and speaking personally, when I've told them about exploits they lie about fixing them. I caught wind that they were about to be hacked days before and they told me they had already taken care of it.

What they should do is fully open contributions, and this will never happen again. But Rob always hated doing that, and they're moving in the opposite direction. Expect nothing but more spaghetti.

Gab TV is great in its basic function and topical layout. It's like 4chan for videos, and I enjoyed it for the time I used it. But who's to say at this point that it's not just another vector? I don't trust any of it now and I won't be using it. Peertube has lower encode standards by default but it's further along in development, is open source, and has live streaming. Idrc about federated video hosting but that still more than tips the scales away from Gab for me.

It's strange that they don't include IP's. You can see them from the admin panel. Maybe Gab chose not to store it, good on them.
