Very happy to not live in Vancouver. Which isn't to say that there aren't people like this in my city, but if they're out there I don't have to cross their favorite intersection. I feel like Roller Girl is the kind of societal abortion that would have definitely been stoned to death in any social structure but the lawful and civilized ones we live in now. Still have my fingers crossed that it manages to Darwin itself by misbehaving towards an even more unhinged fucktruck of a human. A lot of the similar characters I've known have all eventually hit the point where chasing the high of being an intimidating asshole in public runs them directly into the kind of people who step on that bravado for fun.

Another day, another incident, another quote of entitlement.

As far as I can tell, a Karen came up to him while he's trying to sell his merch. The local police are involved and were trying to find a way to (peacefully) separate them and then the clip gets cut off as one of the cops was asking Dawson if he's actually selling merch. Might lead to a ticket for selling without a permit or something tax-related, but you never know.

Man, I've always only lurked kiwifarms but this thread got me to finally make an account. I used to see this lady every single fucking day on the way to work. She hangs by a cafe nearby here, right beside a bus station where she continually harasses and attempts to start arguments/provoke passing people. I've had a few personal encounters where I mistakenly stared at her for a little too long. She will immediately, and with no hesitation, target you and ask why you are looking her way. Not only will she harass you but she will do so while consistently reminding you that she is "famous" and a "celebrity," somehow justifying her absolute psychotic interactions. I feel bad for the workers in that area who have probably grown accustomed to her behaviour.
It's crazy to think that I never noticed her existence until I got a closer encounter. After that, it seemed like she was everywhere. It wasn't too bad until she ran for the Vancouver mayoral elections. I remember specifically in 2018 she was running. I tried looking for the page where she had her ramblings but I can no longer find them. She camped at this location and would engage try to pull people in.

It's morbidly fascinating to me. Any other city I've been in, she would have hauled off and headkicked the wrong person by now and ended up in a cell or in the river. But in Vancouver, Roller-Girl rides free.
