Or Theamericananimeotaku? this guy apparently shows up to the live Anime News Network, Anncast panels, and begs them to make him a reviewer on their site. http://www.americananimeotaku.com/episodes.html Even though their site doesn't feature video reviews like say, That Guy With the Glasses.

Do you guys know anymore sites, or Youtube channels that are, as Bores would say, Dierhea Dick Waffles?

Also, what makes a good reviewer versus a lousy one?

AVGN is best when he's just being critical and genuinely frustrated rather than "angry". All of the juvenile shit-humor really sails past me and honestly drags down what is otherwise some pretty funny stuff.

"What were they thinking?!" is a whole lot funnier to me than when he goes off about how he'd rather be eating skunk assholes than playing a certain game.


(but i have to admit i did laugh pretty hard when he was playing "Batman". The anger level regarding the ridiculous, nonsensical controls in that one was off the charts, but felt genuine. also the part when he forcibly shoved almost every Batman game ever made up the Jokers ass.)

I honestly never really seen any "angry" gamer or critics aside from a couple back when I think it was kinda new. The guys I've seen were Armake21 and Silent Rob. As for Game Dude, I honestly don't know what say about him other than that he just spams himself just to get more views. I'd link a rant video that called him out on this but I think it's gone.

Indeed that overweight Eastern European angry gamer is the best. I mean seriously, he uses a BROOM! Seriously though, looking at that guy honestly makes me wonder as I saw that vid: Will he ever suffer a heart attack? He is very overweight that it really made me wonder if how long he will last before getting something like a heart attack or a stroke.

At the very least the AVGN actually produces some history for the games he's reviewing. He also does some really good videos like that Genesis vs Snes one where he compared their specs and stuff.

Most others don't really do much of that. They just sheepishly copy them.

Then again it's become less and less prevalent. More Pewdie Pie lets player clones on youtube than Angry reviewers.

Amnesia and Slender practically exploded in popularity due to vast amounts of shitty LPs of those games.

It's the same reason why Minecraft got so popular was due to lets plays of it. To the point where the Yogscast asked Notch for more credit for Minecraft's popularity.

I don't like the current trend of being angry in your reviews/gameplay videos. It's now to the point of annoying the audience instead of entertaining them now.
