A 30 minute Zippcast?

No, not gonna watch it.

Enter, either accept the fact that Viacom doesn't want you posting whole fucking scenes from their movies and stick with stills or audio only versions or find a better goddamn hosting site. Hel, at least Blip, for all the hate it normally gets, can load its videos in a reasonable time.

If Enter really cared about making his videos as high a quality as he wants, he'd find a workaround instead of refusing to compromise and instead posting on a garbage hosting site. If I can play a League of Legends match in the time it takes for your video to buffer to a reasonable length to watch, then there's a bloody problem.

He's expecting people to sit through almost a half-hour of him complaining about a bad movie.

Of note are the Red Letter Media Star Wars reviews. Each individually is over an hour long and the final review is almost as long as the film it criticizes, but people watch these reviews multiple times because they're both funny and insightful. That's what a great internet review should be. (It also helps they aren't hosted on Zippcast.)

Enter's reviews are neither funny nor insightful. I can sum up his Mars Needs Moms review thusly: "WAH WAH WAH MEAN SPIRITED."

He also doesn't realize that Mars Needs Moms is based off of a children's book titled Mars Needs Moms. Even the Nostalgia Critic researches movies before he reviews them. Hell, the Blockbuster Buster actually went out, found this book, and read or at least flipped through it before he did his review because he makes numerous references to the source material.
I didn't expect him to know about Berkeley Breathed either but, oh well...

Speaking of the book, it's apparently quite different from the source film.

Still, maybe we should thank God he didn't. He would have found a way to call Berkeley Breathed a terrible person.

And thank god he didn't (though I hope it doesn't interest him to go check out "A Wish for Wings That Work" since that was animated).

So wait, he is complaining about the "stork makes babies" thing in childrens Entertainment? What was he expecting? them to talk about the sexual intercourse of a alien species? That's a bit disturbing
Well, we're talking about a guy that is creating a show were pedophilia is most likely common
and at the same time thinks that an episode of MLP is disturbing
He doesn't have a notion of what is disturbing

What's disturbing to some people might not be disturbing to others and vice versa.

He does find certain things disturbing, I think that he just purposefully distances himself from truly disturbing subjects/videos. I could be wrong though.

The video overall:
-Enter complain about wii refernces dating the movie, but a lot of shows he likes have pop culture references, and in his pilot there is a M. Night Shamalan reference.
-He is not one to talk about bad dialogue, or badly written child characters
-He complaining about pretention is hillarious as well

sure, its not like half yours "Admirable Animations" are tearjerkers

There's a lot wrong with this video but what really gets me is the chimping about the subtitles. All debates about whether or not unsubtitled scenes are effective or meaningful aside, he seemed to legitimately think that the creators didn't know better. As if he didn't realize that not putting in subtitles in this movie was a very deliberate move. He seems to think that they didn't realize, forgot, or made it up to hide a plot twist.

Some quotes about subs from the first 20 minutes:
"Okay, what the fuck? This is one of the most rookie mistakes that you can make.
"...a language that literally no one can understand. You made it up and you don't think to add in subtitles?"
"You can't just throw the story like that out completely"
"I don't know her name because FUCK SUBTITLES. AMIRITE?"
"If you have to hide a twist by flat out removing what people are saying... [rage continues]"
"Has any other movie pulled this card?"
"Conveying things to your audience isn't optional!"

I think this guy may not have watched any grown up movies or shows with untranslated portions. I'm really confused that he's pointing it out like he's never seen it before. Its such a common thing.

I'm reminded of something I heard awhile ago from an Enterbot who claimed that a Throbbing Gristle song (Hamburger Lady, I think it was) wasn't a scary song because she couldn't understand what he was saying.

When I asked her what song she did find scary, she directed me to a song where small children whisper 'die' and 'kill'.

The thing is, that's a really obvious type of horror. It's the kind of horror you'd expect from FNAFs. Shallow and with no lasting impact, but that's why it appeals.

I think that Enter is one of those people who wouldn't get Throbbing Gristle because it's scary for a reason he doesn't understand. Like Silent Hill 2. If he doesn't understand something for a reason that the creators could have fixed (subtitles), it irritates him.

I once saw a horror movie where a bunch of scary alien creatures were speaking an alien language as they monitored the captive humans. I was scared because I was imagining what they were saying, and picturing horrifying scenarios in my head. If subtitles appeared and the aliens were saying "we're going to kill them" then the effect would have been lost.

I could name an animated short produced over 30 years ago that did that very effectively and had such an interesting twist at the end.

There's so much wrong with this review that if I went through the whole list, I'd be here forever. So I'll just list some of the highlights:

1. His whole "Mo-Cap is in its Infancy" speil at the beginning. Yeah, I'll agree the animation in this film is pretty bad. But there's plenty of better films out there with mo-cap the moron forgot, like Tin Tin. Plus the fact that video games have been doing the technique for nearly two decades. How the fuck can he overlook that part?

2. The alien language bull. They're aliens, we only have them speak English because the audience tends to understand them more (plus they do it anyways, so why complain?). The lack of subtitles is probably one of the few good choices of the film (in my opinion). It makes their motives more mysterious, and besides, they still show what they plan to do anyways. So what I take from that is that Enter can't follow a fucking story, good or bad. In fact, I'm pretty damn impressed they even bothered to make a unique language for the aliens instead of just coping out and using English for the whole thing.

3. His whining about Milo being a kid. I think it's obvious by this point that Entard, despite being childish, doesn't understand them. Yeah, I know some of it's due to poor writing on the filmmaker's part, I won't deny that one bit. But Milo's still a kid, of course he'll make excuses to why he needs his mom or think that aliens are zombies.

4. The "Jokes", he's not much better than the movie he's reviewing. I'm at the point where stopped he the damn thing and pretended that the guys at Imagemovers Digital were having a board meeting. And every other attempt he's done either come off as forced or are said in this tone that really makes him sound pissed off (they're unfunny either way).

5. His tone. He seems genuinely pissed off that this movie exists. I feel it'll be another Pet Sitter Pat/Putting Your Hoof Down incident any day now.

6. The existence of the review itself. I won't lie, this is a bad movie in many areas and all. But did this really need to be made? It adds nothing that any competant reviewer has already said. Enter sounds like he's on the brink of tears/suicide as every minute passes. The jokes are worse than anything else he's done (either his reviews, GA or that failed RPG). And the fact that this took over a year to make by this point, only his hardcore followers would even care about this review.
