Well I decided to make this thread for the outcasts of their life. Please share your favorite anime/games/hobbies/music
Whatever you feel like that makes you isolated from the world because you feel like people would judge you for.

I personally love gunpla, and other mecha builds mainly because I feel so alone in the hobby. I don't see appreciation so I want to understand other kiwis and make new friends.

I don't get how Gust can fuck up so badly with the Atelier Series because it would only take a little more time and effort to make the games acceptable. It could be on par with the Tales of series.

But they seem pretty determined to kill off what remains of the series with the latest installment.

Sorry for doubleposting but YuYu Hakusho to be a 90's masterpiece is a pretty normal thought?

I don't get how Gust can fuck up so badly with the Atelier Series because it would only take a little more time and effort to make the games acceptable. It could be on par with the Tales of series.

But they seem pretty determined to kill off what remains of the series with the latest installment.

Gust does a bad job visually, from what we see with tales (which character design is almost flawless) we'd (they) expect us to envision something as important as something NIS puts out.

My problem with GUST Is theu can create good summons but the backstory Is usually copied or originally trash

I really want the Genesis mini because it has Monster World 4. And not only that if you change the Language to Japanese for the Genesis mini it will give you the Japanese versions of all of the games included.

Best part of all is that AtGames didn't go anywhere near this one and the Sound is about as close to perfect as you can feasibly get considering how weird the Genesis soundchip was.

Also it comes with Castlevania Bloodlines and a few other games that the Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection and the Sega Genesisis/Megadrive Classics Collection didn't come with. I mean between those two collections and the Genesis mini you have like everything for the genesis.

Although I think Steel Empire might be missing a modern port.

Except old people, I have no problems with them, and insufferable hipsters, the type of hipsters that when you look at them you have to wonder if there's a masquerade going on and think that maybe they are dressed up like a character but no, that's just their personal style. I'd say it's alright. It's not the best anime in the world, but you can't go wrong with it. It takes everything that shounen anime has done and enjoys doing it. I love the manga slightly more; Togashi's art has a good impact to it and helps bring a whole creepiness and eldritch feel to it.

If there's anything obscure I like, I like "B-movie" anime and video games like one shot 90's OVAs. Granted, I think my entire definition of tastes are really obscure to speak.

Strangely, I'm not that big of a mecha fan as I should be. Mechas are cool and all, but they haven't exactly logically meshed with me. It's why I like G-Gundam and Neon Genesis Evangelion more than Gundam 0079. Even Wing has a psychological feel to it that is definitely more weighted in reality than its almost fanatical war based predecessors and founders and later descendants, at least to me.

Given the latest of shounen, I'd say it's the best we can get,HXH being a high second. But no other has ever reached the anticipation of the dark tournament.
In regards to Mecha, I'd have to say Dangaioh and Votoms.

I used to like anime. then i unplugged a bit. i tried revisiting some of my old favorites (NGE, Bebop, code geass, for example), but i can't really get into them anymore. i've given a few others a shot in the meantime and two that i've grown very fond of are jojo and one punch man. might be for normies at this point but oh well.

one problem is that i like white noise in the background when i work, but i have to actually pay attention to anime because of subtitles.

i've never found an anime dub that i actually like, aside from NGE, bebop, and G Gundam, which i also thoroughly enjoyed when i was younger, but would love to hear of a good series with a good dub to get into.

You become an outright pariah should you ever defend 4KIDS in some capacity or another (despite acknowledging their faults), but I've noticed Digimon fans are absolutely elitist in that you must always watch the sub and never the dub or else you're pissing on the original creators' work and you'll never be a true fan. But like, I've never watched the sub all the way, but I did watch the Filipino dub for both seasons so I do get it. Thing is, I was just much more attached to the characters in the Saban dub, and I still do. I dunno, I understand the dub did change things up a bit and added some weird shit, but the personalities really pop in the dub, and that was sadly lost in the tri dub because they were more faithful to the original script. It didn't even feel as natural as it could've been, but it doesn't mean it was bad.

But how dare I like the Saban dub and enjoy it despite my attempts to enjoy and understand the original just as equally. It's like I never left 1999 in remaining a playground pariah for liking both Pokemon AND Digimon, but it's Digievolved into "No dub lovers allowed" on the Digimon side of the aisle.

Serial Experiments Lain was one of the first series I ever watched that was Japanese.

Azumanga Daioh was the first Japanese comedy series I watched, and I still put it up as the bar for how all-ages comedy is done right, and I also compare it to its original, superior comic book version and how the studio replicated the feel of the pace to varying success.

Scrapped Princess is one of my favorites because it has a standard to everything it does and doesn't feel pandering at any point. Even the simplest insignificant detail, like how one character is shown in a single scene pushing away peas on his plate aside with no comment, gives the series personality that is in short supply in a lot of mainstream animation. I tend to attribute this to it being made off an actual book instead of a comic. It also has an amazing orchestral soundtrack.

Slayers is one of my favorite all-time parodies of fantasy (and before anyone says anything, yes I read Discworld - this is just in the genre of animation.)

Excel Saga is one of my favorite all-time parodies of anime.


These things are double-isolating for me, because I fucking hate weeaboos with their "omg look at the dwagon lesbians weawing maid dwesses KAWAII"-shit, and I goddamned hate fan service. Fan service is entertainment's version of padding a news broadcast with a puppy and shitty puns. This all leads to anime fans seeing me as a grump that "has no fun" while they're off masturbating to teenage magical girls and playing Fortnite or some shit.

Watching anything on this list still means I am seen as "an anime fan" because I enjoy the writing and characters no matter what medium so the normies think I'm some eternal manchild. They probably would've thought that if I mentioned I enjoy watching TaleSpin and Chip'n'Dale Rescue Rangers as well, but Japanese animation is somehow even worse to them. Meanwhile these people eat up garbage like Game of Thrones and are then surprised the final season is fucking shit. I suggest Babylon 5 to these cunts and all I get is a "oh man, it looks old, though" at which point I want to piledrive their jaws through a kitchen sink.


Moving on to video games, I actually like games as a story-telling medium. Fucking shocking. Every time someone says they "play video games" I have this cynical fucking look on my face as I turn and ask what they play. The answers are always multiplayer-lootbox-pop culture-trash trying to get into the cancerous e-sports market. Trying to explain the appeal of the world of Hollow Knight, Shogo, Ori and the Blind Forest, Ookami, Cave Story, the original Fallouts instead of the Bethesda crap that chopped story writing into a fucking confetti, etc. is just met with a "sounds interesting, maybe I'll watch a playthrough."

Every time someone quotes me statistics shit on how about 50-50 men and women play games and how it's now a mainstream past-time makes me want to punch them in the face. It is meaningless to call gaming mainstream if the only thing that appeals to this audience is mainstream games, games that were specifically formulated to appeal to a vapid shithead with the attention span of a baked potato and a loose wallet. It's like saying that a lot of people love reading yet the only books on their shelves are the Twilight Saga and 50 Shades of Grey. I can't fucking stand these people.

Bitch can talk about Overwatch and their gay ships all day, but it'll never compare to the pure character-driven joy of finally breaking the curse and destroying Ballos.
