I doubt that rule applies for non-gag anime/manga characters
So you think the "anime physiology" could be a stylistic representation - if anime/manga characters were real, they'd look like real people - but maybe with odd hair and eye colors?

I think either interpretation is valid - I highly doubt artists usually think of that sort of thing, or take an official stance.

I think if anime/manga characters were real they'd look just like the artist drew them... except with real life physiology, so they'd look like horrifying, misbegotten mutants.

So we got ourselves another meta-anime series about what it's like to make anime/manga, but for sure this one's going to get its dick jerked off because of who's directing it:

I don't really see woke shit happening unless there's a coproduction of some kind (with the Japanese company in charge) because the anime/manga industry is too lucrative to up and abandon its target audience, as unpleasant as otaku can get. There's been a very recent pattern of successful "controversial" anime (Shield Hero, Goblin Slayer) in spite of ragequits, meltdowns, and then radio silence from Western SJWs. Traps, yaoi, and yuri are still seen as fetishes by otaku and fujos, often played for laughs in media, but it depends on the genre and content. Carole & Tuesday only seemed to get popular in Japan because of the soundtrack. Netflix doesn't release their ratings, so it's hard to tell exactly how well it did outside of virtue signalers. Stars Align financially flopped and was cancelled halfway into production, but the author wrote out the story and may self-publish it in another form.

I almost linked this directly but decided to put it on archive because OAG is a very shitty site (the guy is clearly crazy). But after the Red Cross anime tiddy outrage on twitter, Comiket did a blood drive that didn't use big tiddy animu girls for promotion...and it appears to have resulted in less blood donations.

I guess this goes to show that listening to those people isn't a good idea.

Take this with a mound of salt, but someone on /a/ said they temporarily removed the Uzaki poster only because they ran out and gave clear files (with the same design) as a compensation; there were posters of other characters put up in the meantime. It is true that the majority of Japanese Twitter users defended the poster, and the news stations agreed that it wasn't offensive. There was talk that the campaign would continue in February 2020, but that hasn't been confirmed. There's a lot of "he said, she said" stuff to clear up.

Two excerpts from Sono Bisque Doll Wa Koi Wo Suru, the story about an awkward boy who dreams of becoming a Hina Doll Maker, and a gyaru who dreams of becoming a cosplay thot (minus the thot):

Or is that just BS that OAG believes because he's very unhinged?

"Woke" or "identity politics" is still fringe in Japan, from what I heard (@ManateeHunter over there can confirm).

Also I've seen manga is very much mainstream - it doesn't need to be targeted at otaku - almost every other book sold is manga.

There are a handful of radfem puritans who regularly (and ineffectually) reee about titty manga in Jump.
The only time people seem to pay attention to them is to laugh at them.

@ManateeHunter What are your thoughts on the Uzaki chan situation and how SJWs could influence manga/anime in the future?
While I'm still optimistic that corporations here still listen to the money, I'm really not sure if defiance against woke tards can continue, especially if more white trash SJWs realize Japs like licking white people feet.
Also, the coming olympics may enforce those "problematic" posters to be removed for "decency".

ALL THE HAU-AU HYPE.

Hell to the fucking yeah.

Unfortunately I've still only seen the first season, but I love the thought of any 2000s era franchise making a come back, I take this as a sign that maybe Read or Die will get a new anime as well.
